one of the most overrated goal keepers ever.

Never ever England standard.

As goal keepers go he is first and foremost far too small and does hollywood and swan dives just for he sake of it.

UTB

PS: I know you were joking btw
Sounds very much like Henderson to me!?

Obviously we will need to add a few players should we make it this year.
But who would you suggest to sir Chris???
Mine....

Buy back Brooks.
Mate we all have a long list of players we want let's all just wait till it's confirmed its the bladey blade way you know it makes sense :D:D

If we're going to start fantasising....I'm looking forward to the pundits on match of the day, and sky sports giving it

"Sheffield United certainly have momentum from their wonderful season last year"

Wilder saying "we're not here just to make up the numbers, we're not fannying about"

I reckon his price has at least trebled since last year. Even with cashback it'd be half of the PL money gone. More cost effective to prise the decent players from the relegated clubs. Somebody like Cairney, Mitrovic, etc.

No he isn't. It's a myth that he's short.

It's just his stance that makes him look small within the goal.

The two best Blades keepers I've seen in my time were Tracey and Kenny. Pickford is an inch taller than Tracey and the same height as Kenny.

Were Tracey and Kenny "far too small" to be goalkeepers?

If you saw Tracey you must have seen Alan Kelly, quite how you missed him is baffling. Simply the best keeper we have had in my time watching the Blades, a shot stopping animal and imperious in the air.

Don't think I ever saw Kelly play.

Might have done once or twice when I was really young but I can't remember him.

At the moment a bio-chemist with access to something like anthrax spores that can be dropped somewhere like Elland Road and a mad scientist with a death ray and a bizarre hatred for Carrow Road. :D:(
Don’t need a bio-chemist, off topic but anthrax has been released from ice that’s melted, which froze thousands of years ago, scary shit

We deffo had both at the same time ,in fact Kelly took over from tracey

He did and he was the finest keeper we have had. Tracey was good, as was Kenny but Kelly was on another level. Special mention to the tragic Mel Rees who for me still pulled off one of the greatest saves Ive ever seen v Liverpool (Mark Walters)

Apart from Mel Rees who was better than Kelly in his albeit tragically short time at bramall lane

Was away at goodison behind the goal and rees pulled off a save i never thought possible. Think it was Tracey Barlow who headed down to bottom right corner from 6 yards and Rees got down and flipped the ball up and over the bar.

Rees defied logic, he was 3rd choice keeper at WBA and we brought him in as back up. The games he played in he excelled, he was immense pulling off some brilliant saves but overall Kelly had the better package and for me is the greatest we have had between the sticks.

Tracey POTY 1989-90 and 1991-92
Kelly POTY 1995-96

We won more games with Tracey in goal than Kelly in goal

Nuddy, how can you have seen Simon Tracey but not Alan Kelly if you only started going in 2001-02?

The thread was a bit of jokey fun, never a serious thing, was just avoiding DIY by pretending to do work;)

1. Quite a lot more points than we have now.
2. Potentially more luck and bottle in the play-offs than we've ever had.
3. Wilder and Knill.
4. Billy.
5. Probably more money than we've ever spent.
6. Atmospheres like Blades v Arsenal, December 2006.
7. Blind faith.
8. Beer as anaesthetic.
9. Beer as stimulant.
10. No games involving Mike Dean or other big time Charlie refs.

Not much to ask.
