I was at the Hawthorns, I’ve watched the whole match again on iFollow but I’ve only just watched the extended highlights. This is an angle I haven’t seen before.

At the time I thought Cranie did well with the cross from Kieron’s overhit ball, but when I saw this angle, wow! He didn’t just stick a leg out and hope. Every bit of his body is in perfect shape for this, and his eyes are glued to the ball, like a real pro golfer. Remember this was all happening at absolutely full-tilt, as that ball was going out at quite a pace and this was his first touch of it.

I salute you Mr Cranie - master craftsman - this one moment of pure class could make this season and beyond for us.

When refs talk about players having their hands in ‘unnatural positions’ that is a perfect example. What’s that defender doing, waving to his mum?

Thought he should have got to it quicker and crossed it with his left personally.

He’s had seven seasons in the championship where he’s played 35 games or more. Hardly a bit part player. Give him some credit.

Yeah you’re right I’ll take that back somewhat, he was a regular for Cov and the Dingles. At Southampton, Portsmouth, Huddersfield and Boro he was a squad player though.

I think Wilder’s very good at finding experienced players who aren’t appreciated, like McGoldrick, Duffy, Jake Wright, Clarke etc. Cranie’s one of those, IMO, underrated. I think players love how we play and it rejuvenates them.

I actually thought it’d deflected in real time and was too happy celebrating and only really watched the header on the replays at the time.

It’s only the following morning I rewatched it back and oh my, what a bit of skill to lay that up !
