You’ve written some decent articles and a good book Danny. I’m surprised that you’re lumping yourself in with the cut-and-paste merchants.

Almost every Blade that has posted on here over the last week or so has said that they think West Brom are perhaps the best in the division, but then gone on to say that we have nothing to fear and can win if we play at our best.

I don't see anything wrong in the comments, but selective journalism in many cases has left out the complimentary comments about them and left out the bits about us having to be at our best to beat them, and only left the words we will win in, making a fairly reasonable comment seem like an arrogant comment.

More fool their fans for believing it all rather than coming on here and checking it out for themselves

The dumbing down of print media is endemic. What many of these these journalists fail to gather, is that if they do what anybody can do, why would one pay for the output? Roygbiv is a great example of this.He's seen a niche in which a layman can operate and has filled this little vacuum as well as anybody could. I'd class myself as a supporter of local media, as it's a crucial source of media for local oversight, but my point stands. The nationals can go to hell in a handcart, as the majority are a stain on public life. I think the bad outweighs the good with our national media.I feel sorry for the people who work for Johnston Press as they refuse to sort their webpage out. Shakespeare's collected works is pretty good, but if I had to get my hands covered in crap to read it I'd probably not bother.

My problem was you putting words in my mouth. I just see what Roy produces as a type of journalism in its purest form, reporting on events.
Apparently that's not okay, it's just opinions isn't it though. Glad you enjoyed the book

No, but the problems monetysing it. If you have a free version of something that's widely available, next to the free version...
It's plaguing all media at the moment. The product has to have a unique selling point, and be beyond the scope of your average layman. The free stuff is basically stealing market share from the paid stuff. Then there's piracy. I don't think all this is necessarily a good thing, but it's undermining the traditional ways we access media. It's more democratic in a sense, but isn't much good for people who are in employment in these fields.

Cheers mate. I buy newspapers, vinyl records and books so I'm not a champion of what's happening. There's nowt like the real thing for me. I'm particularly miffed by what's happening to music. The internet seemed like a massive opportunity to democratise the music industry, but it's just killing the business. Record labels wont gamble on new talent, and ticket prices are obscene to counteract the loss of revenue from record sales.
