They’re Castleton? If Leeds are relying on Bamford as their main striking option then they are beyond Hope.

No HopeThey’re Castleton?
I don't think that's a matter of fact: Bamford's form throughout his career has been generally inconsistent.
Leave it there.I have to admit Scoots, I umm'd and ahh'd loads before posing it.
Even though I could go in and edit it away, I think I'll leave it their to teach myself a lesson![]()
What happened to Clarke?Worried about the fitness of Bamford, 2 ligament injuries in the same knee in the same season, not ideal.
But not worried about whether he can score goals, he definitely can, 1 in 2 p goal record in the championship (goal every 175 minutes) and thats without playing up front that often, hardly at all last season for Boro.
But fitness is the worry.
Izzy Brown the same, top class player at this level on his day, better then Samu Saiz, but after an ACL there is every chance he wont be the player he was before, least not for a while and by then may be to late.
And then we have Jack Clarke, no idea when he will come back, but if he does soon and he is well then he is as dangerous a winger as anyone in the league.
Not all bad, in theory we have 3 top attacking players to come in, but theories dont always work out.
Collapsed on the bench vs Boro, oxygen, stretcher, the works. What happened to Clarke?
Leave it there.
Another lesson for you, no need to thank me![]()
They’re not that dependent on one man - good player though he is. I always prefer the opposition to be at full strength in big games like this anyhow, then they’ve no excuses when we beat them.Out for a period on the sidelines, makes leeds weaker. May miss the game with us...
They try to Winnat all costs! They’re Castleton?
ok cheers - but what was actually wrong with him?Collapsed on the bench vs Boro, oxygen, stretcher, the works.
Taken to hospital, had tests, apparently he is doing well but didnt train last week, only doing light gym work this week, clearly being very careful with him and rightly so (although we do really need him).
Leeds will blame “spygate” and “Brexit for their loss of formOut for a period on the sidelines, makes leeds weaker. May miss the game with us...
Dont known.ok cheers - but what was actually wrong with him?
Watched them alot this season, they create chances and good ones at that. If he is called upon to be the main man for the rest of the season, providing he stays injury free i think he'll notch enough goals to keep them in the running for autos or even as champions.

Know commentI no, I no!!
I spotted that when it was too late.
I'm one of those annoying, self-appointed grammar police types as well![]()
I dont know what happens to Billy Sharp when he puts on a Sheffield United shirt but he turns into a beast, wasnt that for us.I'm not saying he can't score goals or that he's a bad player, but I'd personally be surprised if he got more than Sharp for the remainder of the season.
Also, his goal record since 2015 is very poor, though admittedly some of that was in the PL.
Hope, Castleton and Bamford all referenced in one S2 thread..As an ex Hope Valley Blade, I'm liking it..UTB![]()

You're right Bamford hasnt got great stats since 2015 but if we discount the Prem spells as thats not relevant now, his Championship record is decent.
11 goals in 23 starts for Boro last season, 7 in 11 when playing as a striker.
9 games for us, 2 starts, 2 goals 1 assist, both goals came when he wasnt even fit enough to start.
Fully fit playing through the middle i think he is every bit as good as Sharp, Pukki, Gayle, better striker then Roofe imo.
If he stays fit id be keen to keep an eye on the Sharp and Bamford battle actually, just for fun.
Sharp has been awesome this season, be interesting to see how Paddy does fitness permitting.
Very interesting points: I'll be honest, I only scanned his Wikipedia page which obviously doesn't account for starts/position
Whether or not he's at a Gayle/Sharp/Pukki level is up for debate. However, he's only just entering his prime, at 25, so One would assume (if he stays injury free) he has the ability to surpass all of them.
As for Sharp's spells elsewhere I think there's an element of not utilising him properly but I think it's also fair to say he's a better player now. He's got better year on year since he re-joined us, somehow.
