If JOC is still injured I reckon we may see a start for Marvin Johnson. He hasn't impressed us so far, but surely if he's required he'll play instead of Dowell?

Hopefully Jack is back and we can go back to our usual home winning 11 (-Bash). If not Wilder will sort it out

Why surely? Dowell is by far a better footballer than Johnson.

Wilder doesn't normally go for the square peg in a round hole. Johnson was signed to cover LWB, Dowell for attacking midfield. Johnson obviously couldn't play on Wednesday, but I wouldn't be surprised if he started on Saturday.

Based on the injuries and suspensions and the fact we have WBA the week after, i'd go like this:

Henderson
Cranie - Egan - JOC/Stearman
Freeman/Baldock - Norwood - Fleck - Stevens
Duffy
Madine - Hogan

McG and Dowell as options to change game if needed.

Looks like I know what I'm talking about then. JOC still injured, Stevens inside, Johnson on left.

Well there you go.

You called that spot on; unless this was said after the team sheet was out!

Got to say something about the depth of the squad if Dowell, Sharp, Coutts and McGoldrick can be left on the bench though.

No just seemed fairly obvious. He would've started on Wednesday had it not been against his parent club. Shows Bryan is clearly not yet up to standard yet though.

I find some of the teams put forward quite illuminating at times as to why certain players aren't picked.

Looking beyond at West Brom when we have a tough game with Reading is bonkers - it's all about the here and now.

I don't agree.

Yours sincerely

C.Wilder
