I think Blackwell should be given until Christmas and arguably till the end of the season based on the fact that he has had 2 good season's so far. I know at times the football is poor but we have had a lot of bad luck with injuries etc.
However if Blackwell went for whatever reason, would you call on Warnock?
Or would you go for a new young manager?

I think Warnock is about ready to hang his balls up to be honest. He's been promising to do so for years, by all accounts. But, in the same way that football moved on from Harry's time, I think it's pretty much moved on from Neil's too. I'll add "unfortunately" to that. He pissed me off regularly but he brought more good times than bad.

no thanks. enjoyed the majority of his spell but the football wasn't leagues apart from what we're seeing now (although definitely better than now, but not much!).

Like to see us drop this tag of a hardworking-great-bunch-of-lads-blood-and-thunder malarkey and get us playing some decent stuff.

Even when we were playing good football we were still getting that tag.

very true, but then it often worked into our hands.

Depends who your manager is I guess. When we had Kendall, Spackman etc we got known to be a decent footballing side (rightly so). Even with Robson we did, even though the football was arguably worse than under Warnock and Blackwells stewardship!!

No No & once again NO. His time has been and gone. Time for some fresh ideas.

I wouldn't have Warnock back for a single second.

If Blackwell was to go, i would bring in someone in from the lower leagues who has got a good reputation for playing football, getting winning results and has the ambition, energy and personality to change the entire culture of this football club.

The difficult thing is getting the right man

Blackwell's lack of ideas and creativity is very clear but to be fair, he did offer his resignation after the play-off defeat.

What I'm mostly pissed about is the contradiction between all his pre-season talk on the importance of bringing in new players and rebuilding in order to prevent the team from suffering hangover effects and McCabe's statement now on the importance of being prudent in player invesments and contracts!!! It would be extremely unfortunate if McCabe seriously believe that people would buy it. I'm having doubts about his sense of wisdom and real ambitions for the club.

Having said that, performance wise, I think we can only improve after this spell of injuries is over and I feel that Blackwell should be given a chance to be able to put out a full strength team for a run of matches and see how it goes. If things continue as they are, then we're in serious shit and if McCabe has serious ambitions, he should invest in a proven and experienced manager - bar Warnock.

I'm 32 and I really wish and hope I'd be able to see us being an established Premier league club, fighting for european places within my lifetime!

Well we are going backwards anyway so why not bring him back.

It was a knee-jerk reaction to get rid of Warnock immediately after we were relegated. He performed wonders in the Premiership IMO. No one expected us to stay up but he almost pulled it off. It it hadn't been for Tevez, and any of a large number of dodgy refereeing decisions, we'd still be there now.

Terms like "we should be looking to the future instead of the past" and "it's time to move on from Warnock" are empty rhetoric. We all know he would give it his all, and probably do a better job for us than most other managers.

However, Blackwell is our manager now. He has just had a great, exciting season. We failed to be promoted automatically by a single goal (Brum's against us at St Andrew's) and made the Play Off Final.

Currently we have had a few disappointing results but we are in the top half of the table - not bad given the fact that we have lost plenty of last season's top performers to transfers, injuries and bans.

No reason to sack Blackie. It shouldn't even be a topic of conversation.

No it wasnt.

His time was up with us and we needed a change of direction. Unfortunatly we made a big mistake picking Barny Sornob.

Which games did you go to last season? It was different ones to me, it was fucking awful to watch. We scraped most games, very very rarely came back from behind, looked totally lost against teams that figured us out and hardly won at home/relied on boring the opposition into submission away.

Since the start of last season it's been dull, dull, dull and more dull under Blackwell. OK, there was a couple of away games and the play-off semi at home, apart from that? Total shit.

I do think he bought himself some time because, for god knows what reason, we finished third. Any goodwill he bought himself through last year's league place has gone down the pan with his inept tactics, buying shit players, crap results and starting the season with half a squad.

Blackwell out
