Evans was better than we had available. We were on a big slide before we signed him. Leonard had a couple of moments. Holmes has been a total failure so far.

I didn't think we chased Evans for that long. Felt like an opportunistic one. The Leonard and Holmes signings were long chases though, that's for sure. By the end of it, it felt as though we were signing them just to make sure the past year hadn't been a complete waste of time.

Particularly given the subsequent rumours about Evans' attitude. Not sure he fitted Wilder's requirements of a United player.

Doubt it will be to Oxford, they received their third HMRC winding-up order in the space of a year the other day (although I think they have now paid it). Apparently after the last order the chairman said it was the last time it would ever happen.... something's amiss.

Holmes best game for us was the 3-0 loss to Wolves, the rest of the team were shocking from what I remember though, so maybe that's bumped it up a bit in my head.

I didn't think we were shocking against Wolves (that incredible drop kick of a red card aside). We got soundly outclassed by a Premiership team.

Why was it strange? We needed a Duffy backup and he fit the bill: in his 30's, used to play in non league, playing at the peak of his career, high workrate, winger who can play inside, available for cheap.

When he arrived it didn't work out for him. It happens.

As much as they probably weren’t good enough . Neither Holmes carruthers or Leonard ever got a proper run in the team so I don’t think it’s totally fair to say they weren’t good enough.

Which most likely means they didn`t show enough in training.

Only 11 players can play that doesn’t mean 15 other players don’t train properly.

We very rarely change our staffing eleven over the last couple of years.

Same applies for Washington as does Holmes/Leonard

Happen so, but they need to show in training that they deserve to be in the matchday squad. Injuries aside, if they can`t do that after a period of time, then they are obviously not good enough for a team which the manager is constantly trying to improve.
