Judging by the vitriol that is present among Barnsley supporters evidenced by Barnsleyfc.org.uk towards Chris Morgan I wonder if the club and the police are taking any measures to protect him during our forthcoming match ?

If someone from Barnsley was hell bent on doing Chris Morgan he isn't hard to find.

He lives at Penistone which for the hard of understanding on that board is a part of Barnsley.

and I believe his house has been targeted. I don't think anyone will wait around the corner or owt daft like that but given all the bedlam surrounding an actual match when all the Dingles are winding each other up or full of ale I think its possible for a nutter or nutters to invade the field. Similar to the way the spurs fan tried to attack Frank Lampard a couple of years ago. I don't think the club should be complacent or flippant as some on here seem to be.

I would like to know what some chavved up little Dingle is going to do once he's invaded the field, when that field contains Chris Morgan, Darius Henderson and angry little Stephen Quinn?

I'd suggest that "run away" would be forefront in his mind.... and I don't mean Chris Morgan.

If someone is going to invade the pitch, then that's Barnsley's responsibility to steward, absolutely nothing to do with United. I'm not sure what it is you want the club to do? Take on the responsibility and expense of the security at Oakwell? I can see that going down well!

I do know one of Barnsley's stewards comes on here... perhaps Foxy will point him in this direction and he can address any concerns you have.

Morgan will be safe enuff !

All the hype is just bollox like on cum fc kin dancin an x factor !

I'd be more worried about the players than the fans. If Hume is played we might have another Santos situation on our hands except we'd be on the receiving end.

We'd better hope that both players can be professional and let their football do the talking, and furthermore that Morgs comes out on top with a Blades clean sheet (as unlikely as that is given ours and Barnsley's recent records)

Isn't that what Hume tried last season?

The Hume incident last year was blown out of all proportion. Yes he got injured and Davey deflected the attention away from his own inadequacies quite well by using the Hume incident to keep him in his job (alledgedly).

There was only one player looking at the ball, that was Morgs. He stood his ground. Hume was coming clattering into Morgs like an out of control headless chicken.

Morgs is under no threat. He knocked Ali out. Theres a picture to prove it on here :D

Linz spare me the attitude. There are measures that the club can take as its their responsibility under Health and Safety of employees. They could alert the police to the potential for trouble (specifically to Morgan) or disuss security matters with their counteparts at Barnsley fc.

There are message on the site I mentioned above the tone of which includes attacking Morgan on the pitch and Barnsley fans being happy.

I'm sure such messages are illegal, perhaps under incitement laws. Any opinions on the legal rights and wrongs or what action could be taken.

examples of comments on the Barnsleyfc.org board yesterday.

"Morgan needs a good kicking either in the courts or outside of the courts for what that bastard did"

"I hope there's shed loads of trouble at the Blunts match, it wouldn't bother me if someone shot that bastard Morgan"

"I will not be satisfied until Morgan gets his "personal" payback"

All from a site with some connection to the Barnsley club.

Out of interest are these comments illegal ? Anyone know ?

Not that I look at these things, but judging by the Blades Player 'Strip Friday' video, Morgs is looking like a boxer at a weigh in. The lad's ripped to fook.

He looks a bit like the groundsman off of the Simpsons, except not as yellow

Meaning what Soton Blade ?

Meaning what Soton Blade ?

Meaning that Linz may be somewhat bemused at the claims she has an "attitude" for pointing out something obvious - the home club takes on the responsibility for stewards and police.

You seem to be very concerned. But i put it to you that you perhaps would be more civil in person, meaning that perhaps the same will go for our dingle cousins. It's very easy to shout off online.

If you are concerned, you'd perhaps report the site to their hosts and the police. But i'll keep my helpful attitude to myself.

You may well be "bemused" at the suggestion you have an attitude but why do you think that a couple of correspondents above are saying "you're a brave man" "you got off lightly" ?

And cut the patronising comments I know I can contact the police and the Barnsley club, I may well yet make a complaint to the police but I was merely asking for opinions as to the legality of possible comments which could be construed as inciting violence thus determining whether I do so or not. Strewth.

I suppose you're the administrator so take whatever action you deem appropriate

It's because they know an overreaction when they see one... and they might be "having a laugh"... something I'm doing in the face of such a show of twisty knickers.

It might just be me... but i find it strange that you invite opinions and input yet refuse to see anything that doesn't align with your view as anything other than patronising.

Ahhh... the old "if you disagree you'll ban me" chestnut. While you seemingly have suicidal tendancies, that isn't the way we work around here.

I suggest you take a chill pill... amusing as this character assassination at my expense is.

The whippet shaggers will huff & puff, direct insults to Morgs, act all brave behind insipid stewarding & a few coppers, but i doubt any of the trogladytes will have the courage to run on the pitch. Why risk the chance of being barred for life from Oakwell, oh shit, that`s a silly question, any thinking man would be happy to be barred from that shithole. Lucky then that barnsley supporters aren`t thinking men.

I do suggest though, that Morg`s takes extra long pockets, a few coins may be thrown his way. Could make a handy addition when the players christmas party comes around.

Blackwell`s hoof it tactics for a change may be a useful ploy, keep the supporters eyes on the heavens, that`ll do the trick

What's a Whippet Shagger?

Well "Linz" I hope I am overly anxious and perhaps it is just wind and piss from the Dingles. You interpret the comments from the other guys however you want but for some reason they seem to imply a bit of "don't upset the big beast" However I feel like I've been savaged by a dead sheep you're so intimidating:D

Peace and love

I think you're a bit weird. :)

Why's that then Tone ?
