Martyn Waghorn

I think [or at least hope] we might have moved on from him now. Not saying he couldn't still do a job for us in the right conditions but I based on what I have seen so far this season I would rather we had gone for Nugent to be honest.

We've chased players before and they've flopped Leonard, Holmes et al. Time to move on

I think a player with his skill set would be extremely successful in our system and under our management.

Mmm maybe, but not Derby's set up?

Some say he's been a one season wonder and in hindsight, was he worth that ridiculous fee and wages?

Me, I say we've got better value for money in Goldie

We create a stupid amount of opportunities for strikers and Waghorn would be a way better option than a Clarke, Madine and Washington. I agree with you entirely with Didsy though not seen many better technically and for free as well

There's no room for sensible conversation here! Just rash comments you may later regret. Thank you very much

Yes, but you don’t have to accept responsibility for any such comments. You can just carry on talking different bollocks and pretend things are as you would like them to be, rather than as they are.

S2. The home of Noise and Nonsense.

Funny how you berate people for 'cap-cap-doffing', yet for some reason you claim we're the home of "noise and nonsense", unlike all those other, superior clubs.

On a slightly different angle, does anyone else think about wagging the horn?

He played well for Derby last night v Southampton.

He just comes too deep at times for me - nice header for 2-2 though - shame he doesn't play on the shoulder of the CH's more often.

For me, we wanted a top of the pitch player - Waghorn is too similar to McG and wants to go all over the place - we already have players who can do that.

UTB

It was never Waghorn OR McGoldrick. We were after both, we'd already signed McGoldrick when the Waghorn rumours came about.

The two don't need to be compared each time one of them scores a goal/misses a sitter.

Waghorns a very good player. It's just that Derby probably wasn't the best place for him to go as they are trying to shoehorn in God knows how many players into the side every week. This is a legacy of Fat Frank's recruitment drive n the summer when he was trying to sign owt with an arsehole and splashing the cash.

The best place for his wallet in the summer was Derby. The best place for his football career was here at the Lane. He chose the money. Still a good player though.

Could he be a potential signing in Jan...

Not playing, out of favour, FLDC might want to recoup some of their losses on him.

We should test their resolve with a 750k bid and perhaps throw some international appearances at it.

Shithouse.
