If we're splashing out money on a striker, what we need is someone younger with more athleticism.

There’s hardly any pro on the planet that wants to play for us, or anyone else for that matter.Wankhorn opted for money over glory. The fact that this might be understandable ... doesn't make it any the less detestable. As ever, with anyone, fuck 'em if they don't want to play for us.

They play for the highest bidder, with the odd exception who goes for the highest bidder minus ten percent, and a headline of “it’s not just about the money”.
I'd rather have Nugent from FLDC than Waghorn.
Mind u, is rather have none of em. You just know that they will be getting paid well over the odds at FLDC. Their wage bill must be astronomical.
nah fuck that. as i said at the time the Rangers fans i know thought he was ok but not all that.Could he be a potential signing in Jan...
Not playing, out of favour, FLDC might want to recoup some of their losses on him.
We should test their resolve with a 750k bid and perhaps throw some international appearances at it.
what.a.fucking.bargainIm happy and satisfied we got the better of the Ipswich strikers, without breaking the club record fee as well bear in mind!

Get Deano out of retirementFunny isn't it how we all knew our biggest need was a striker yet the freebie we got and the fat lad are at the top end of the goal scoring chart !
Waghorn isnt wjat we need. What we really need is a striker.who can run at defences, go past players and create his own chances. But they are few and far between and cost a fortune. Dwight Gayle is a great example of that kind of player. Hopefully our scouting team are busy uncovering a lower league gem in this mould.
I'm hopeful around the top end of the league and lure of Premiership riches will bring in the striker we need, after all if we're top 4 without the goal machine we'll surely push on with him. So it's Champs wages now, promotion bonus, and Prem wages thereafter. F**k me though there's a lot of cash to make up to beat 30k/week!Others will become available and if we are (hopefully) siting pretty in the top 4 ,then we could be more attractive to better players. But then there's the money aspect.

If we are top two in January and Wilder doesn't get whoever he wants McCabe and Princey can go fuck themselves
Can we please go all out for Waghorn in Jan. I don't care what he wants, give him 50% more, 40k a week or whatever! Get him signed, he'll take us up and we can then sell him for 5m profit.

Fulham pushed the boat out with a loan signing.that's probably what we will do.can't pay premiership wages. on a championship budget. It's the best way as failing to get promotion and Fulham only just made it leaves us in a similar position to Wed.Wilder will not risk the future of the club. There's a string of clubs who went for it and failed, don't know what it is about forest but they have been embargoed once and are now going for it again with owners flooding it with money and surely breaking the regulations again, they should have the book thrown at them as really it is as close to cheating as you can get.Indeed it is a lot of cash, but Fulham pushed the boat out last January for Mitrovic and he made a difference.
We are not in that league of signings - just depends whether the club will decide to gamble a bit. A big promotion bonus could be the way - we've been very creative with the signing fee for Egan, so we just have to try and work something out.

Yes right on the money Fulwood ,metrovic was an expensive loan but paid off.If they had failed they were able to send him back and not picking up a player on £40k a week meaning the club wouldn't be lumbered with premiership wages in the championship.Indeed - Mitrovic galvanised them up top. If will be a difficult call by the joint chairmen, but we have to try and do something.
We have a glorious chance last season, spoilt by that night in Burton - I thought it was once in a generation chance. Little did we know that CW and the management would pull it off yet again.
We missed out last season - ca we afford to miss out again as we are in a better place this season.

Ha ha, I was one of the few that was warning against him initially, partly due to my Rangers mate who said he was garbage up there. Are you on the wind up? He is garbage. Even claiming OG's now as he is that desperate for goals. Sorry but we dodged this one, let's not go back for him.
I can't think of many clubs who would go after a player they failed to sign and has scored less than our current front 2. Don't we want to upgrade?

At least I appear to have been one of those on here who recognised your post for what it was, a wind-up. You're right Scooter, one mildly prolific season at Ipswich has meant that Waghorn has put many thousands on to his wage demands. Good luck to him, but he was never that good that he was worth more than 2-3 million at most.

Although with a wealthy chairman like Khan they may have been able to absorb it.
