I often wondered how such obvious propaganda has worked throughout history.

When you listen to player interviews over the years there’s a very common theme.

They are professional and just want to win.
Even if they don’t like a player (which is rare) they’ll still be more then accepted if it improves the team.

Didn’t Sheringham and Andy Cole hate each other and never talk? They did ok as a pair so does it really matter if players get on or not as long as they produce on the pitch?
Slightly different in that team spirit / cohesion is much higher on our agenda.

Wasn't there a similar instance between Ronaldo and Rooney during a tournament game prior to them both playing for Man It's ?

Not to the same level, no.

Fair point as always Alco. When you are of a team winning all before you the team often held itself. Which is why I think Wilder will have done his due diligence on this one more than any.

Wait and see but I see him doing a job that we cannot accommodate within our existing squad. We need someone to get on the end of crosses. Wilder has clearly identified this and sees Madine as that particular solution.

I totally agree with all of that. My point about cohesion wasn’t that Madine threatened it, but that Wilder would have considered it and decided he will be accepted.

I think Madine’s aerial threat is missing in our squad, and Wilder has identified it. Madine is terrific in the air / holding play up (for the money).

A lot of posters appear to be assuming that Billy is a sensitive soul who holds a grudge and will have a problem with working with Madine.
I think it's far more likely that they'll have a pisstake and laugh about it.

Billy Sharp is a grown man,and sadly has had some things happen to him and his family in their personal life that puts all this stuff into perspective. Wilder and Knill are not wet behind the ears when it comes to management, the possibility of cocking up the positive advances they have made since taking over will have been taken into consideration as part of the decision

Just heard his interview. He’ll do for me if that’s what we get. Needs an early good performance or two to shut a few up but he does tick the boxes we are missing.

He looked like he was chewing gum whilst been interviewed, if that was the case Bert will be setting fire to his shoes in the car park on Saturday.

Or maybe Madine had smacked himself in the gob this morning.

Bills with Bert here.
Kick fuck out of folk in pubs but chewing gum on interview?
Just no.

I just can't get my head around the Madine frenzy that seems to be feeding itself the last few days. Good luck to him.
I can't get my head around any of it. I don't even know what I can't get my head around.

Sorry about another thread about him but I feel this is very important if he is going to be accepted here

Edit: towards the end of the video

He sounds like Gazza... probably drinks like him too

Just no.

I'm not into them tight jeans he was wearing either. Far to revealing for before 9pm

To not be wearing his best suit on his first day shows a complete lack of respect for his new employers
