I grew up in the 70s , went to Abbeydale ,have seen loads of racism ,but I cant recall once in my life ever hearing anyone making monkey noises at another person in anger. Always had black friends during and after school and now ,and Ive never heard the word honky said in anger either , just for balance.
I would also add that if someone is found to be really doing this they want hanging out.

The monkey noises made were actually an impression of a Delacour's langur - one of the rarest monkeys in the world. In that sense, it was pretty original I suppose - it wasn't your usual chimpanzee noise.

I don't condone racism, whatever monkey impression it might be, but I am also concerned that our national game is descending into a bit of a farce with allegations of players calling other players names. I mean, back in the day it would have been sorted there and then - with a crunching tackle or a punch in the gob. It made for an interesting spectacle and added a bit of spice to the game.

I actually agree but I'm a white male and I can't understand exactly the pain that it caused to those who have dealt with racial abuse throughout their lives.

I'm 100% in the sticks and stones camp in general, but I can't possibly have an opinion on this without sounding like an ignorant cunt.

Comments are made about weight, height, disabilities, facial features, religion, skin colour all the time, that's life, criticizing others who for some reason you might take a dislike to. Most people will make comments on others, it's human nature. If everyone who criticized anyone else was sacked there would be no workers left.
