Angry at Wilder today

Did anyone see Man City's team v Rotherham? Wilder needs to take the hit on this one I'm afraid.

He picked the team.

I think it safe to say, the Cup isn't his (or Clubs) priority, fair enough. I just think it's disrespectful, although having said that, it is understandable with the way football is developing.
Personally didn't want a single starter from last week in today's team ,even crainie so im relieved only four were used as i think our squad ( first eleven )is massively overachieving and I don't want any of the key players injured

Honestly couldn't give a shit about today and I can't see it affecting next week or the rest of the season one iota

...and why have cup games turned into reserve team games? Never used to be. It was once a serious competition.

Prize money for winning fa cup, about 1.5m
Prize money for staying in, or being promoted to the Perm 100m....

I think there lies the issue.

And I completely get your point of view. My only issue with it is my hankering to the old days when FA Cup was a thing to be won.

Alan Knill talking about respecting the opposition before the game......

No respect for the fans with that team selection.

He has had a bad weekend

He’s disprepected the fans (of which he bangs on about being one)

He’s disrespected the competition

He’s disrespected Barnet.

Behaviour I’d expect from Warnock rather than Wilder.

Absolutely disrespected Barnet. Not much of a team talk required in the away dressing room before kick-off.

"Right lads, I know we've talked about Sheff U this week and where we think their threats are, but forget that. I've got their team sheet now and that lot in the other dressing room think you're so crap, they've put the entire reserve team out."

Wouldn't have made any difference if our reserve team had put a shift in

Treated the competition with contempt.
Should always put a best 11 out. No wonder the cup is losing it's glory.

.......all this on top of the Madine shit.

Chris, it's a good job you're in credit!!! Some of that has been used up today.
Almost every player that played today was a first team squad player. Most have been on the bench at least.

If he’d picked 10 development squad players I could understand your ire. But he’s given a load of first team fringe players a chance and they all (just about) let him down.

Find someone else to lash out at maybe?

Wilder did nothing wrong today except give these monkeys a chance! (Although he has to take some blame for signing most them himself!)

I don't disagree with you at all, but one thing that people forget (probably including the owners of the clubs as well) is that the 100m+ that you get in the PL is necessary to pay the ridiculous transfer fees and wages of the players that you need to stay there. The prize money and the gate receipts from the FA Cup, on the other hand, is a bonus.

Not only did the manager treat it with contempt the players did and also the fans. We all got what we deserved today.

We all say it doesn’t matter but when that draw is tomorrow we will all be gutted we are not in the hat. I for one was thinking a good draw in the next round.

West Ham at home something like.

I think I’m more annoyed at the players who were given a run out. They gave the impression that they thought it was going to be a walk in the park. Nothing more upsetting for a fan than to see that.

It’s in the history books now, a sad day that’s there forever...

Lost at home to Barnet..

Facts are facts.. as are inept performances..

And just to rub salt into the wound, MOTD have still got our old fucking badge even though I sent them an email about it last season, the twats.

Wilder has shown more disrespect to the FA Cup this weekend than any other manager in English football.

Tottenham brought Harry Kane ON when they were winning 6-0 against a League Two team.

Don't agree. What Wilder did was the same as Fulham, Leicester, Huddersfield etc. They know their priorities. Kane came on when the game had become little more than a training session.
I don’t want to get into personal battles with anyone on here. You’ll all see I’m not a regular poster, or a knocker of the club or whatever other type of characters you get on here.

However I need to get it off my chest how pissed off I am and this place is probably the best place for it. I hope people at the club read stuff like this and know how I feel.

The FA Cup is/was the elite club competition, something to be proud of winning or even being able to compete in for the lower league clubs. What happened today will not be forgotten by me if we beat QPR, or the pigs in a few weeks or even if we get promoted.

I think more of the game of football than that. It’s not only us, Man Utd probably started this all them years ago by pulling out to play in some corporate competition overseas, something I’ve never forgotten nor forgiven them for.

Now my own club have done it, shown disrespect to such an extent that I’m ashamed of them. I’m a realist, I didn’t expect the first 11, but I hoped for it. Maybe one or two changes. But that today has really pissed me off and it won’t be forgotten.

Take the piss and call me all the names you like.

Good post. I don't agree, but you've made your points well. The FA Cup (and Carabao) have lost their allure and it wasn't United who started it - top teams putting out U-23 teams, daft kick-off times, live on telly etc.

We made the best use of our available (threadbare) resources yesterday and it failed, but to those who say it was a 'losers mentality' I'd counter that with saying that those who think we could actually win the Cup have a 'casino mentality' - they go in thinking they're going to win but - of course - they won't.

The further you go in a cup competition, the more of a pisser it is when you go out. The Hull semi was good because - for once - we turned up. But a Premier team will usually beat one from the third tier and Arsenal will usually beat Hull, as they did three weeks after the semi.

Put it this way, if we were in the draw tonight and got, say, Man. City or Tottenham (home or away), the inevitable drubbing would have far more effect on our morale than going out to Barnet - disappointing but unscathed.

Unless somebody thinks we'd actually beat Spurs or City... 'Loser mentality' or just plain realism?

Barnet have a 100% record against us in all competitions, a statistic that is likely to hold for some time to come

Sorry, can't agree with that. You start by suggesting it's pie in the sky to think we could win the cup, yet admit that the Hull semi was good because we turned up. We lost, but I don't think anyone would claim that we couldn't have won it. We were in with a shout for most of that match, and then you are only 90 minutes away from winning the cup, never mind who the opponent is - and we did that with a team far below the one we have today. The lower down the divisions you are, the less chance you have, of course, but who didn't enjoy that semi-final? People don't remember not winning the cup, they remember a great day out at Wembley where we, as you say, turned up. I don't think a "drubbing" by a top PL team is inevitable at all, and a narrow defeat can be as morale boosting as a victory against a lesser side.

Ouch! :)

Well, instead of name calling how about a counter opinion? Everyone is entitled to one, whether you agree with it or not.

That is my "opinion" you're a pillock. Calm the fuck down
