I find it amazing that an allegation of a woman making an offensive sound after a minor football game has become national news. And everyone piles in to say how unacceptable racism is, and there is no place for it in sport.

Sure racism's wrong but sometimes I wonder whether the social media / media reaction to alleged incidents is fueled by virtue signalling. Look at me, I'm not racist!

I grew up in the 70s , went to Abbeydale ,have seen loads of racism ,but I cant recall once in my life ever hearing anyone making monkey noises at another person in anger. Always had black friends during and after school and now ,and Ive never heard the word honky said in anger either , just for balance.
I would also add that if someone is found to be really doing this they want hanging out.

A bit like with that incident in Italy the other day. If only people would ignore it and not make a big deal of racist incidents. Bloody virtue signallers.

You say you've never heard the monkey noises or the word Honkey used "In anger"

If you've heard them used 'Not in anger', as your post implies, therefore deliberately, surely this is a much more serious racist offence.

It’s possible he means between black and white good friends, especially with “honky”.

A serious response is yes and yes..

Sack them both, and if the manager did it, sack him too, picking on people for something they shouldn’t be picked on for and couldn’t change if they wished or wanted to is disgusting and should be shown no mercy... our club and all clubs need to set an example make clear the consequences, and carry out the punishment, no excuses..

Zero tolerance on all bigotry and racism from the top to the bottom.. it’s 20.19.. let’s evolve eh..
