Rhodes is clearly a better forward than Madine
But given the choice (taking away the controversy) in our team I would prefer Madine over Rhodes.
Rhodes is too similiar to Sharp but has confidence issues, so he’d be understudy to Sharp just in case BS gets injured or has a drop in form. Where as Madine is totally different to what we have, so he’s a different tactical option to do the job.

See what I did there?
I turned a Jordan Rhodes thread into yet another Madine thread.

Dave Allen to buy out McCabe

Didn't Dave Allen not particularly like the pigs and professed to preferring Dog Racing to football. He then went onto sue a load of their fans

All this Madine stuff. Who is he going to replace? Will he just sit on the bench next to Leon? Or will he replace mcgoldrick? He wouldn’t seem that sort of player to me.

In short it doesn’t seem like a good addition to me. Just seem to be clogging up the bench with like for like players. ??

Leon's off to the Midlands

He won't just clog up the bench, let's not delude ourselves, both Goldy and Clarke have had dry spells, one more 'different' option can only help the team.

Correct. If Madine starts it will see a change in the way we play and we can’t play that style well enough. My prediction is that he won’t start more than 5 league games so we’ll have paid out a lot of money for him to sit on the bench.

Madine has only ever done well in long ball,
hoof it teams. How do you feel he would fit into our passing style of play? Considering he doesn’t score goals, how do you feel he will help us when McGoldrick and Clarke are going through a dry spell?

Go on then.

How?
Far better player that Rhodes.

Madine is stronger, better aerially and technically, and a fantastic header of the ball.

Rhodes is a good goalscorer, or at least was and that’s it. He’s as weak as a cup of water and has the technical ability of Nick Montgomery.

Wow!

Early contender for craziest post of the year.

Putting the controversial stuff on Madine to one side, just looking what he brings to the team as a player ie strength, height and aggression, that is something the starting XI lacks. On the playing front I think he's a good addition to the squad and will give us a decent plan B when teams come to the Lane, park the bus and we can't break them down. I don't think our crossing into the box from open play and set plays is particularly outstanding, with Madine in the middle you can throw a percentage punt into the box and due to his height, strength and aggression he can get something out of nothing. Think what Shipperley used to bring to the team in the 05/06 season.

After we struggled to break one of the park the bus teams down earlier in the season I was starting to worry with some of Wilder's comments that we were too good to go route one, when surely it's about doing what we had too to get three points (that's what CWs teams did in the title season to great effect). The signing of Maidne to me says if we need too, we can go direct in an attempt to make sure we get all three points when the need arises.

Funny how Madine is a 'far better player' yet Rhodes has scored 209 goals in his career and Gary has only scored 85.

You'd think it would be the other way round.

Rhodes is a miles better goalscorer. We have one or 2 of those.

Madine is the better footballer of the two, he has a range of skills that Rhodes simply doesn’t have.
