Not really mate, I don’t subscribe to your opinion. This is a football club, not a dictatorship. We’re paying customers and we’re allowed to voice our opinion.

I booed Marlon King as a Blade, because to me he was a bad man. I saw images of the girl he’d assaulted and put my sister, of a similar age, in the same scenario. She would have responded the same way and met the same grim fate. I was disgusted with the club and I despised the man. I tried to make it known - with a boo. With Gary Madine, the same applies. If he’d asked me, or my mates in a club “who do you support” we wouldn’t hesitate to say “Sheff Utd” and I’d have received a broken jaw for that. If fans vocally making their displeasure at something in the ground makes you cringe, that’s fine with me. You’re entitled to your opinion.

To me, folk happy clapping and cheering every decision the club makes because they think that makes them some sort of super-fan makes me cringe. We live in a country of free speech, we have our own independent minds and the right to voice our opinions.

Presumably somebody in the Kop, or elsewhere, will tell somebody not to boo. There will be a response. Throw some pre-match scoops into the mix and you have aggro and in fighting.
Booing someone in a united shirt is out of order. End of story.

Think you're missing the point would you want to cheer him playing for United if hed smashed your face in for saying you supported United!!!!

I personally wouldn't go to a blades match ever again if we signed him and I was that blade or any of his mates ...

Like I said if he apologised and was genuinely remorseful then I could forgive and move on. As for playing for United, I’d like to think after 5+ years I’d be over it and have no issue.

He could have walked away, clearly he didn't. Considering his past record you would think he would try much harder to avoid these situations.

These things are often not straight forward and it’s quite easy to make excuses or be highly critical.
Communications and body language can easily be interpreted. People perceive some things differently.

I reckon the truth (but no one really knows the truth) is GM enjoys his VIP lifestyle and likes to flaunt his status during nights out.
Some people dislike him due to his perceived arrogance, so they give him the eye/ dirty looks showing their distain.
Some people are aware of his border line prison sentence, so take the opportunity to wind him up.
Madine should be mature and turn a blind eye but he sees red and reacts to the slightest provocation.

I know someone, a nice lad with extreme anger issues who has been involved in fights (never starts them but he’s black and reacts to rascist comments) and spent a short time in prison. He’s now a married family man with kids and makes sure he rarely goes into town. Also if someone is being confrontational he knows to walk away in the early stages before it gets out of hand.

A few years ago I was walking in the city centre of Bergen when a bloke came up to me, asking what I was looking at, before starting to shout at me, clearly wanting a fight. Friends stepped in and he didn't get what he wanted.

It's the only time I've been near a fight. If my mate hadn't stepped in I think he'd tried to punch me and I don't think I'd turn the other cheek. Maybe I'd broken his jaw and gone to prison?

If we don't know any facts, apart from the police letting Madine off, despite the likeliness of witnesses being present, isn't it harsh to assume Madine was being the aggressive part?

Give over Bergen, he's been arrested 5 or 6 times and convicted twice in the last 10 years.

He's a nasty drunk yob who has anger issues and is likely to start on anyone who makes a comment to him. Given he's a piss-head, that's likely to happen a lot if he signs for us.

You never answered the question about why your username is morgan’s elbow?

Surely someone with high morals like yourself wouldn’t be paying homage to an incident which left a man with a fractured skull?

Maybe jokes aren't immoral?

I get it’s a joke, but is it not bad taste to joke about a man being left with a fractured skull?

I’m not offended by the username but my point is someone with high morals surely wouldn’t deem it appropriate to joke about that incident.

Fucking melllllllllllttttttttttddddddooooooowwwwwwwwwnnnnn!
Get him in I say if it gets us up I don’t give a fuck

Bet they keep him after that result.......

When we go in for strikers, almost inevitably we get gazumped

I'm still living in the hope some other fkers are coming in at the death to nick him from us
Are you on speaking terms with Frank Lampard at Frank Lampard's Derby County ?
Collects attackers, I mean strikers.

Excellent point, many Barnsley fans would be deepely offended by the username and might assume the poster must be a neandathal yob glorifying violence. The family of the Barnsley player with the fractured skull could be deeply upset by the username,

When someone chooses the higher morale ground it can easily backfire, then it makes one look an hypocrite.
Nothing personal against Morganselbow, it’s just an example of how people can’t make judgements.

Because you’ve said so?

Saying “end of story” doesn’t strengthen your “argument” at all, you do understand that?
How can you sit there on your computer and not see why you shouldn’t boo a player in a United shirt? Are you dense?

Bad taste jokes are also not immoral, they are jokes meant to cause laughter. Nowt threatening his moral standards there.
