Watching the highlights on YouTube which allows you to watch at 1/2, 1/4 speed etc I've changed my mind on two decisions. Bash's first booking now looks to be deserved. The hand ball booking is ridiculous but in fairness to the ref Bash goes in over the top of the ball studs up. And secondly I thought the red for their lad was harsh (as did Billy in his interview) but again watching back in slo mo he's wildly out of control studs up which perhaps I didn't get a great view of on Saturday.

The tackle might have been given as a fould in some games, maybe not in others. Such is the inconsistency of modern refereeing. But it is clear that any form of good old crunching tackling is steadily being eradicated from the game, which imo is a real shame.

The 'handball' was an absolute farce and I hope that referee gets piles twice as bad as mine, very very soon.

stiIl looks like a fair challenge to me. Both look bad decisions. He certainly had a shocker !

I think it was more that it was so early on in the game that I was surprised with the booking. You warn him for that one and then book him for the next transgression. The handball was just ridiculous.
