Awesome stuff. Very pleased with what appears to be a complete change in outlook down on the pitch. First 30 minutes was business as usual and strange, because we seemed to fade a bit until Jack's masterful cross to Billy, then suddenly we are on top. For the second half, up until the completely clear penalty denial it looked like we might succumb to a slightly technically superior Derby outfit but once their free kick went in, you could sense that because the crowd were mightily pissed off at the injustice, all the players gave it a 'you are NOT fucking having this game' and went at them. It's the kind of spirit been lacking in much of this season. We know they've got it in them, even if they haven't got the overall talent and even if we don't go up, I'd be happy if we fought like that every weekend. It was a joy to watch.

Henderson 7/10. Again, not much to do but beaten all ends up with a worldy free kick

Baldock 8/10. Good performance. Battled well and got stuck in and did the basics too

Basham 8.5/10. Again, becoming player of the season already. Not his best game but you could see they were wary of him when he got on the ball because he seems so fearless

Egan 7.5/10. Loved his grit and determination and a better performance than WBA by a long stretch. Him and

O'Connell 7.5/10 seemed to be far more in tune this game and the back three as a whole clicked well. I was fearful when Nugent came on because he is an experienced, wily bastard who frequently gets the better of less mobile centre backs, but Jack coped well when they went two up top

Stevens 7/10 Only just because sometimes he does the right stuff then fucks the attack up with a misplaced ball or a very poor cross. He's a wingback. He should be able to hit the target man at least once or twice

Fleck 8/10. Far better performance from him. Dug out blind in the centre of the park and the fact that he stayed on even when tiring with Coutts as an option shows how much WIlder was pleased with him

Norwood 7.5/10. Can disappear at times for a short spell but when he did appear it was significant. Again, Derby were very wary of his distribution and passing and he had two on him most of the time

Duffy 6.5/10 Nullified by Huddlestone for most of the game. When he gets it, it's difficult to see who is 'on' for the lay off and run and sometimes he is a bit exposed, even in front of the box

McGoldrick 8/10. As said, I have difficulty recognising what he does as part of a two man attack. Think he is better as false nine or in the Duffy position. He seemed to have more impact when Duffy went off. Well taken goal though

Sharp 8/10. Ran his fucking socks off as usual. Drops one whole point for some really bad opportunities squandered. 'You fat bastard' indeed.

Clarke 7/10 Mixed it up a bit and took his chance well

Derby should have been down to ten and the penalty was nailed on. Carson is a fucking liability. Wilson is pretty fucking good. Nice to see Waghorn at the Lane. Being on the losing end. Lampard is a typical mardy arsed ex-Prem dickhead

The ref was a fucking joke.

Overall a splendid performance and well done the lads. Great noise from the crowd and some ace songsmithery! Shit Stevie Gerrard!

Nice to see three strikers on the scoresheet

Agree there pommpey, funnily enough the not given pen followed by their goal did us a favour. The level of passion in our game and the supporters went up 3 levels and they couldnt cope with us. Their pretty boy midfield wilted and their well dodgy defence started to crumble.

The big difference in the game for.me was the two defences. Despite their possession our 3 centre halves and Hendo looked very solid. In contrast their 2.full backs, Tomori and Carson were liabilities.

Agree with pretty much all of that. Stevens can be frustrating sometimes when giving it away or playing shite balls in but did improve as the game went on

From gangway G on the South Stand I couldn't really see the penalty claim from Mcgoldrick . What did it look like on TV ?

Goldy was in on an empty net. Defender grabbed him, hauled him back and shoved him to put him off scoring and Goldy went over. Straight red and a spot kick OR simulation and yellow for Goldy. I know which one it was, and it wasn't the second one. Ref was appalling and the FA need to have a word.

Either your telly is on blink or your eyes are. Stevens 7/10 is criminal pal.

I have seen the replays and to be fair it didn't look like a pen to me, i think McGoldrick felt a hand on him and made a bit of meal of it.
Although Goodman for Sky said it was definitely a penalty.
Derby fans certainly don't think it was a penalty.

Why would feeling a hand stop him heading it into an empty net

Don't know you would need to ask McGoldrick.
Can only say what i have seen on TV and the replays, there just didn't seem to be much of a pull if at all.

I can only assume you haven't watched a game of professional football since the heady days of Hunter and chopper Harris
