We are doing. Irrespective of some of the reactionary Shyte on here tonight. Always after a defeat and rarely constructive.

Naive to think we would waltz straight out of L1 and be looking at the PL within 2 years.

5 year project in front of Wilder. I wonder if he will see it through ?

By the end of May I’m sure we’ll know

Well, with Brooks sold and some or other fantasy money from Maguire and Walker … oh, hang on. Silly me. LOL!

Well, with fuck all to spend and the side slipping southwards toward last season's position, even getting loanees who make a difference might prove tricky. And once the fun stops, he'll stop.

I very much doubt Wilder will be at the club for next season, the roller coaster is at the top of the slope.

Looks at ages of players. Looks at budget. We're fucked!

Sorry but it’s not shite, we have done brilliantly but the same pattern is emerging- pre- match planning for any opposition is - “weather the first half onslaught when they’ll be on us like Whippets and they’ll tire second. Give them a taste of their own after the break, keep them wideand we’ll deal with any crosses as they don’t have anyone who can bully us in the air”. It was plain to see that we started going long when pressed after halftime. I’m not complaining about not being in the PL but we’ve topped out and Wilder, for all his talent, can’t take this squad further without new signings. That leads me to think he’ll be off and that is a worry for us all. McCabe has form - he has never invested when the chance to step up came and I’m sure that mid-table Championship with 25k per game will suit him just nicely.

Fucked in a play off spot you mean ??

Some folks need a reality check !!

If you want proper fucked, go about 4 miles to the North East ;)

Sorry, this team is not a play off contender
We beat the average, the poor, the lacking in confidence and the teams with players who don't care

Meet a good team who actually want to win and we lose........simple as that

Duffy, Sharp, McGoldrick, Basham are one day going to suffer the Dean Hammond legs have gone syndrome.

They should be well down our pecking order by the time that happens

But they won't be

Given our record against the top 6 sides, I don’t think getting into the play-offs matters particularly. We wouldn’t win them.

We looked fantastic for 30 minutes and it was liquid football. However, the level dropped and we seemed to be a poor side after that.

I don't think its a 5 year plan, i think we're looking 2-3 years, because of the players we have - the JOC's, Fleck, Norwood will want to be playing at the highest level possible. Then we have the players reaching or in their twilight - Duffy, Sharp, McG, Coutts etc.

We need to be working on transitional plans, Washington for Sharp, Norwood for Coutts are two which spring to mind as examples.

The last thing we want is to be replacing players with lesser quality.

Biggest question, who replaces Basham? The guy is immense.

I won't criticise wilder or the team at this time. He has got them playing at 100% of their ability as SwissBlade said it was fluid football for 30 minutes but credit to WBA their quality to weather our storm and slowly turn it around to a win finishing on top is testament to quality players with a poor manager.

Unless or until the ownership issue is resolved we will not get stronger because we will have to sell to run the club because our pathetic owners are not in the same league as successful or ambitious owners.

If and when the issues are resolved Wilder might or might not get his chance to show if he can do a job with a big budget and getting us to the PL and keeping us there.

The majority of the first half was an advert for how good Wilder can set a team up and get them playing (against top draw opposition might I add) the Norwood slip aside, they hadn’t lived with us in that first half but conceding at that time proved critical though.

The dressing room must have been interesting, because a different team walked out of it after the break, body language looked like they’d had a fight in there or something and we completely gave up from the whistle.. I’ve not seen that before under wilder.

Without backing wilder to bring in younger replacements the future doesn’t look good because we can’t rely on the ageing players in the team who are the wrong side of 30, their time is running out and the “rollercoaster appears to be at the top” is a fucking great analogy of where we are...

Wilder may be forward planning for some roles whithin the squad and hitting a brick wall, he may have realised where the club actually is because the board did a lot of big ambitious taking but have behaved true to form for united as usual by selling to fund and sustain, also talk of premier league from players is a worry because we did it last season and fell away and last week Norwood said something about it live on Sky, I think we’ve lost that “one game at a time” ethic and started talking shit, might be me and my paranoia but I don’t like it when we talk ourselves up, we don’t have the tools in the locker to be talking ourselves up in December especially in such a strong division..

We as fans always said we’d be happy with a few years and to build, wilder is securing us in this league but has had a taste of being top and knows he’s good enough now, matching his ambition is our “problem” so to speak, as somebody else said 25k a week attendance and champ football suits the owners, but the manager wants to progress the squad and club, and he’s right, but something upstairs is obviously very wrong..

Based on what we’re achieving with what resources are available were doing great, but with a very capable and ambitious manager we’re all frustrated instead.. UTB however, we’ve seen it before.. some of us expected it.

Oh, by the way....

Some comments on here today are laughable, “worst I’ve seen a team” “worst loanee” - fucking short memories some people... but you may be young so I forgive, give it some time kids.

One day you’ll see your version of (42k a week) nosworthy and know what I mean..

Sadly I think it’ll take one half decent team to come in for Wilder for him to leave. As Toy said, the signs are there that he isn’t entirely happy and if he’s as ambitious as he sounds then he’ll not wait around for our owners to settle petty squabbles.
