Not convinced by Norwich for automatic promotion just yet. They're definitely one of the better teams in the league but 6 of their last 7 games have come against the teams in 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 23rd (+ Swansea, 12th).

Like us they seem a bit reliant on one striker for most of their goals. Rhodes had a purple patch but has gone back to being gash.Keeping Pukki fit or getting another scorer in could be the telling factor.

They are in a very strong position though and definitely the surprise package.

Can't see Norwich keeping it up at all. I too fancy Stoke to make a late go of it and also Villa.

Still, it's so tight up there, a decent run from anyone (as shown by Norwich and the Trees) changes the picture completely. If we have a run like we did post Boro, we'll cement it.

The good thing about that kind of stat is, it can't go on for ever. I too will be amazed if Norwich finish in the auto's. In fact once they start to slip I can see them dropping out of the playoffs too. I think there's a whole bunch of stronger teams in the league, and we're definitely one of them!!

Villa, West Brom, Derby & Stoke nailed on for play-offs. Plenty of money, good loanees and - unfortunately for us - young squads.

Leeds no chance.

Agree with you about Leeds but i'd also lump Derby in with them as well. Both have similar past form for bottling it. I'd put us, Norwich and Boro with the remainder to complete the list.

Once the six fingered fukers luck runs out (4,added time wins so far = 8 points they've jammed) they'll be back in the mediocre pack.

Really dont get why 1) people are writing us off and 2) why people are going on about this season being easier.

For a start 43points is the average for a team 1st in the league at this time of the season. And 42 is 1 point above average for 2nd placed side.

Last season was an anomaly, there have been a few but this season is about normal (ive checked).

And despite our injury crisis (its been substantial since the end of August) we are still averaging 2ppg for the season and have been for the last 10 games same as Derby (who we battered away) and worse then Norwich (who we also battered away).

Us and Derby have taken more points of the top 12 then anyone else. :(

And if you extend that to teams who could get into the top half next weekend then that includes QPR and Bristol City who we just beat and even if Derby beat Bristol City they drew with QPR so we are clear of them to.

Despite all that other fans are writing us off:(:(

I wouldn't say Derby were nailed on, personally. They have a vulnerability and an over reliance on youngsters who haven't played a full season at this level yet. At their best they are very good, admittedly.

I think any of the top 10 teams could be promoted this season it is a very close division. Lets remember Fulham were 12th at this stage last season and Wolves were running away with top spot as the season went on. Norwich are nowhere near as good as wolves were.

Way to early to call that one .. a lot games left and a lot teams still in the hunt ... had bursts of form then faltered a bit after ..so far Leeds , Boro , Derby & Us to no,e but s few have fallen into that bracket ..I think aybe 12 or so chasing poss play off spots Villa ,West Brom even Stoke will be in the mix at the end but have premiership squads & wage bills ..important we keep up the pace moreso with 5 games in quick succession to the new year .. we’re punching above our weight in comparison with these lads but it’s nearly Christmas and we’re still very much in the fight

Leeds will finish in the top 2. They play a really aggressive pressing game that just smothers teams. Even with a long list of injured players, they have continued to pick up good wins. Pains me to say it, but it's good football to watch.
The other automatic place I think will go to either West Brom or Villa. Both of them are now starting to get a grasp on how to compete in the championship.
Us? If we can keep injury free, and add a little quality in the JTW, then I reckon that top 6 is definitely do-able.

I think, no one is better than us at our best. I genuinely do! The only doubt is whether we will will be at our best often enough!

This season is too close to call. I can't see Delias mob staying the distance. Pick one from ten.

I’ll be the exception to say I don’t see you tailing off like previous years - think you’ll splash a few quid in Jan if you’re still top 2. Defensively best team I’ve seen at BL this year.
