Missed again.

I love watching him but that’s 4 games on the bounce he’s had a great chance to score and fluffed his lines. It’s cost us in every one bar Brentford.

Played alright today, and you can’t legislate for whatever the fuck Henderson did, but it would be nice if McGoldrick could get some finishing training in.

We wouldn’t have scored if we played while 2019 regardless.

McGoldrick is fun to watch, and brings good things, but that's his 20th appearance this season and he's only scored twice from open play.

We need better than that.
I didn’t know that. That’s terrible.

He doesn't score enough, but offensively he was our only threat for large parts of the game - So how can he be the problem? Duffy and Basham are our equal 3rd top scorers with 3! Norwood with 2 and Fleck 1 - The rest of the team really have to chip in with some goals.

We cannot carry a striker who scores once every ten games indefinitely.

Carrying? He covers more work than just about anybody. He brings so much to the team it's unreal, it's not his fault it's only Sharp that scores in the team.

Also, he currently he has 5 goals. At this rate, he will have what, 12 goals for the season? More than reasonable for a second striker.

He was excellent today apart from that miss and that foot stamp. So glad to have him on board but he just isn't reliable in front of goal, at the moment. I am sure this will change eventually but I would give Washington a run with Sharp for a few games. It's then a toss up between Duffy and McG in the 10 role. Duffy still gets my vote.

2 chances today. Still a good player in our side. Works hard has a good touch and funny too - that bit of control out the air, cushioned onto his knee and then volleyed into the stands had me in stitches ;)

This. And this alone actually. If we had a finisher we would have got maximum points last week and at least a draw this. I like McGoldrick no question but if we want to mount that final hurdle that makes us promotion contenders we need to splash out on a top level goal scorer who needs one chance and one chance only.

So if McGoldrick puts in a man of the match performance next week and lays it off to Billy for the winner, will the agenda still be only two from open play? Or would it be better if he scores a hat trick and we lose 4-3? We win or lose as a team, individual stats are fucking irrelevant

I see McG as a number 10 more than a striker. If he was prolific he wouldn't be at the Lane, simples. I think the frustration needs to be directed elsewhere - Clarke, Fleck (hardly chips in with goals), McCabe, bog roll prince etc etc

We lose as a team cos Didsy keeps missing sitters...

Nah, I'm over stating the case obviously, but it's a big problem. And he didn't look like laying anyone on today either.

But the bloke that puts the ball in the back of the net generally is the one who wins it. Is it not fair to say he has missed a few good opportunities that are the difference between 3 point and none? I am sorry but that is why we got him for nowt. We now need to go get a goal scorer. Apart from Billy we don’t have one of those.

Well, an assist is end product. I don't see a lot of end product in terms of goals or assists at the moment from him.

And it's not an agenda. It's an observation.

Hey I am not unhappy with anything right now. We are nestled in a very tight battle at the top of the table when I didn’t think we would do more than mid table. But IF we want to go to the next level we need a better finisher. It isn’t that I don’t like him but we need a bloke who shanks ‘em in off his arse.

Strikers are judged on goals. He hasn’t scored for 10 games and had at least a chance in every one of the last 4.

I’m a massive Duffy fan but he’s much too inconsistent to be our “No10.” He doesn’t really back himself to run in into the box enough. Started to think McGoldrick can a do better job in and around the box.

Said the same last week.

Nice to have. Ideally as a game changing sub. But not to be relied upon.

His lack of finishing cost us arguably 5 points and possibly 7 in the past 4 matches, given at 1-0 we would have been the ones 1-0 up.

Shame but these are the fine margins. Sharp also missed a good chance.

Manages to miss quite important penalty's as well. Well one, very
