When I saw the team sheet I wasn't hopeful, Washington for Billy and lundtram for Duffy didn't smell of goals to me, which shows I know flip all.
Although it's only one game and not a lot can be drawn from it but I think this shows that our squad is stronger than last year, we've rested 2 game changers and won away to a very capable side, when last year we lost 1 game changer ( albeit a fucking amazing game changer) and we were never the same side, again it was just 1 game but encouraging

The overall level of fitness bothers me, the ability to storm into a 3-0 lead used to be there, but now it seems like they are trying to time manage so that they can last 90 minutes.
If it's a tighter game, after 60 minutes the game deteriorates into a scrappy horrible scruffy mess with our players having to drop back and clear their lines constantly due to having nothing left in the tank.

Created plenty but looked shakey at the back.
Freeman looks out of sorts to me.
Lapzidazy on the ball in defence.
But still a 7 out of ten team performance in a result badly needed.
Utb.

Don’t mention Freeman....

I didn’t realise Lundstram was actually playing.

Washington impressed me. He bothered defenders because he chased balls that, for us, are usually dead. It gave us that extra dimension (I’ll call it half a dimension for sake of it being simple).

But we cannot keep a clean sheet.

Norwood - that’s a beauty.

We always looks shaky at the back (missing Baldock and cant stand it). Still, beating Brentford away is a good result and as they for the most part looked 2nd best, i'll take the 3 points everyday. Come on lads, same again on sat'dy.

Delighted with the win, and to see Lunny and Washington play so well. That will have done their confidence a world of good.

Not going to complain too much but it really can be a nervy business watching us when we are out of possession against a team with energy and quick passing. I know they are the hard teams to play against but we just don't seem to close down quickly enough or pick up enough loose balls. It was MUCH better tonight than on Saturday but overall I do think it is an aspect of our game that needs to improve.

Anyway, enough negativity. 3 beautiful points and UTB!

Great win...Don't know why we had to have that 10 minute spell when we kept giving them the ball back, and they made it 2-2.
Back on track though, bring on Leeds.

Was Lunstram actually on the pitch, didn’t hear name mentioned once.

Just for illustration purposes, according to my smartwatch, my heart rate at 21:18 to was 111. It's 68 now

This is what you're doing to me United. Please, think of my heart.
If it's any consolation, it's just as bad for the heart clicking on the BBC Sport Football web pages :(
And fuck off to the automatic score updates :mad::mad:

He had a solid game mate. Nothing spectacular, he just mopped up and kept it simple. Made the odd foray forward but didn't over commit.

Showed he can be relied upon when we need to rest other players or mix things up.

Too many times we were not getting goalside quick enough when they had the ball, resulting in attempted tackles from behind or side lunges which gave them free kicks in dangerous positions. Done this too much in other games too.

Norwich dropped 2 points Boro dropped 2 points . But Y oud think we'd lost reading some comments on here

We have fans who can stick the boot in after scoring 3 away from home
Fans who can see negatives all over the pitch .But refuse to see solid performances from players they have written off
Lundstrum did nothing wrong
Second match running a wicked deflection goes against us as Fleck scores an og
But we still went on to win
With a goal from recent hate target Clarke

Not that you'd know with some

A lot talking about Freeman. He has had a few poor games in a row for us now, yes. But remember, he came back from a pretty serious injury and is now, with the international call ups, being footballed into fatigue. It’s clear he needs a rest. Wilder’s spotted as much, Baldock was down to start tonight before illness.

I think Baldock should look after the spot over the difficult Christmas period and let Freeman get himself right. His attacking output means that he will come back into the fold before long.

Right on that one brother. I’m a f****ing nervous wreck when I’m not at the game. To be fair a few times lately I seem to have clicked on the BBC live score thingy as we’ve conceded. I’m effing phobic about it now :(

Unnecessarily pedantic and sarcastic.

You must be a real hit with the ladies?
Eh?:D

I’m happily married mate! 22 years next year. One wife for life. Been with her 29 years but didn’t rush into anything like.

Before that? I don’t seem to remember having any problems. Except with ones who claimed to be Blades supporters but can’t even spell their names.

Yeah...maybe you’re right then?

3 points off top
Joint 2nd top scorers in division
Team with the top touches in opposition box
We really are struggling.arent we

For the past few games....probably yeah. He needs a rest, looks fucked and has mistakes in him at the moment - backed by Wilder who was all for bringing Baldock back.

I think Freeman has been very poor recently. Taylor of Rotherham ripped him a new one. He was “ok” tonight at Brentford but nothing more. We can improve in that area imo.
