I know many on here think the only important game is the next one then we move on, and I don’t usualy buy into this myself, but I can’t help but think tonight is crucial.

We’ve fallen off the pace, played well but only in fits and starts and an ongoing theme is not putting teams to bed or seeing games out. It’s got to affect their confidence.

We’re playing a team with some useful players at a ground where we always seem to get very little, but they’re off form too.

I just really think that going down there and sticking 3 past them and taking the points is really important. We can go into a hard game on Saturday with a win and show them at the top that we are a factor. It’s a very winnable game and we have some much tougher ones to come. We really need to be winning games like this, especially after our run, if we’re serious about top 6.

I’ll be there to cheer them on and I have full confidence we’ll see a good performance. COYRAWW!

Gonna lose tonight and we'll be mid table come January.............................is what I would say if I had no faith in our lads! We're gonna stuff em tonight and march on back to the bloody top!!! UTFFFFFFFFFFFFFB

I can't wait to see Stevens surge down the wing, cut inside, turn back on himself, pass it in to McGoldrick who lays it off to Fleck who then passes it sideways to Norwood who then passes it back to Basham.

Rinse and repeat x1,000.

Scintillating footballing.

Think we will struggle for points between now and January. Players playing at 100% of their ability but we lack a few quality players like Norwood. Risk is he will come down to our level rather than rest of team reaching his level.

Don't see us getting owt from tonight and next three home games worry me. But I know nowt about football, I've followed the most frustrating team for 61 years.

Hahaha I do like the negativity, it is so true !

I fear a fairly routine win for Brentford tonight and then a reaction on Saturday ! Whether or not that means a win I have no idea, seen us play every which way with a mismatch of results.

Agreed. I said the same at the weekend.

It's going to be difficult slog from here until January and I can't see us picking up many points at all through December.

There is a tide in the affairs of men, which taken at the flood, leads on to fortune. Omitted, all the voyage of their life is bound in shallows and in miseries. On such a full sea are we now afloat. And we must take the current when it serves, or lose our ventures.

I think Shakespeare was a Blade!

Have the witches told McCabe to kill the prince and he will be king?

Norwood was far from "quality" on satdy.

While a "reactionary" performance and convincing win tonight would be fantastic, it's a hard game and any sort of result is a bonus. I'd be happy with a draw, and ecstatic if we win. I'll bite anyone's hand off right now for a scrappy, agricultural 1-0 win.

I’m expecting to see a good performance - we mostly do - that doesn’t concern me in the slightest. It’s all this passing it about around the box with a huge slice of fanny that concerns me.

I think we need to get back to what we do best. I don't know why they stop doing it

Fleck and Duffy - Attack the penalty area instead of constantly taking the easy option FFS
Stevens and Freeman - Get crosses in occasionally when you have the chance, instead of stopping, turning around and playing the ball back.
If nobody gets on the end of it that's not your fault, if nobody's in the middle put the cross in anyway, it's not your fault, your job is to get forward and put crosses in, do it often enough and somebody will get on the end of it occasionally.

Defeat is all I can see, and more to come before January beckons and possible reinforcements arrive!
