West Brom are one place above us and in second though.

As long as we get up and running again soon, this league is quite forgiving

Is this another one where the OP is cherry picking just enough games to make us look bad and ignoring that we had 10 from 12 or similar right before then?

Stupid response. Cherry picking the last 6 games? Apart from today we have played well but not had the results. Should have , could have is what most teams will say. Oh, and i have history for seeing it as it is.

Carbon copy of last season this, Wilder kept playing the same formation and system and it didn't work. Is he going to do the same again or show some invention?

Won 1 match in the last 6  not good , how the hell are we still in the play off positions . Norwich are on fire won all their last 6 , scoring 12 in the last 3 matches. Lets hope we pick up soon , before we fall into mid table , its happening all over again , just like last season !

A lot of Blades fans need to stop kidding themselves.

We had an easy start to the season.

We're a bang average, mid table Championship team.

Every time we come up against someone of any quality we get shown up, especially away from home.

I look forward to our trips to Norwich, WBA, Swansea and so on. Not.

Aye, I've been saying that for weeks.

The early season form was given undue prominence because it was just that - early season. You win a few games early on, and you're top of the nascent league table. Had those same results happened in the back third of the season, then United jump from 12th to 7th or whatever and no-one bats an eyelid.

I think I’ve seen us playing the best football of any team in the Championship. I don’t think we are turning that superiority into wins enough though. And I think a couple of good players in Jan could change that. But I still believe we are a strong bet for top 6 even without it. So I’m happy with our progress overall.

This is exactly what I mean about people kidding themselves.

I'm sick of hearing this bollocks about how we play the best football. It counts for absolutely nothing.

The best football is winning football.

The point I’m making is that performance is the best predictor of where a team is likely to finish up. Performances and results usually correlate over the season, but not necessarily in individual games. I think we are capable of out performing any team at this level so I’m confident we will be up there in the top 6 and not a bang average mid table team as you suggest. But...we’ll see I suppose?

I'd stop expecting a top six finish now if I were you mate. It'll save you a lot of headache and disappointment.

We're simply not good enough.

We couldn't even score against a woeful Wednesday side who let us have the ball for 95+ minutes. Pathetic.

It’s frustrating I know. I’ve said before I wish we’d be a bit more direct at times in and around the box. We do fanny around with it a bit too much in the last third, looking for the perfect opening. And it is costing us points. I posted on this the other week after the Forest game. But, we are a bloody good team. Very good imo. One of the best, if not THE best at this level. We need to tweak things a bit but I’m genuinely very confident we’ll stay the course this time.
