Wilder or Warnock

Wilder as a man head and shoulders better than Colin but that wasn't the question so reluctantly Colin gets it at minute.
I’m not sure that you can really compare a manager who’s had 20 years more in the game and had 11 years with us Bill. Warnock is always going to have more experience than Wilder but that doesn’t necessarily make him a better manager, he’s just had more opportunities to get it right. He had to 3 good seasons with us out of 11.

To be honest I detested the bloke and his football, I hope it doesn’t show. ;)

To help you compare. Try comparing like with like. 3rd season of Wilder v 3rd season of Warnock. Win ratios. League position. Quality of football. Way in which they’ve conducted themselves publicly.

If you’re still struggling then give up!

Yes fair comment that's why I said athe minute. I also hate the man.

Warnock got us promoted to the Premier League.

That's the end of the conversation.

Until Wilder matches or surpasses that achievement there's no debate to be had.
The question was Wilder or Warnock? Not who’d got the most promotions under his belt or got us up to the top tier. It took Warnock 10 years to get us promoted whereas Wilder has been here less than two and a half seasons. And by your logic then, Adkins and Robson must also be better managers based on their achievements.

It’s not just about experience, (IMO) it’s about the quality of football and how the person represents the club. Warnock was often an embarrassment to United and the football under him was shocking most of the time.

Wilder every time and that’s the end of the conversation from me also...really, but I do respect your opinion.

Wilders achievements aren't even close to Warnocks so if it's based on football management it's no contest

But wilder can soon look forward to being despised to the same levels once he's been here too long too

What’s Warnocks achievements in comparison with Wilders? As I understand it they both have 1 promotion with United each.

In comparison to when both managers took over, are we in a better position now or were we in a better position when Warnock left?

Warnock has 4 promotions to the Premier League. Wilder has 0.

It's easy this.

Warnock got us promoted 4 times?!? I must’ve have missed 3 of those.

Yeah, easy this...although it doesn’t help when you only quote half of what I said

Can you not answer the question?

If you need it explaining why we were in a better position as a club when Warnock left compared to when he took over then there's no point in continuing the conversation.

Wilder is my favourite ever Blades manager but his achievements in the game are not comparable to Warnock's.

Warnock has the most promotions of any manager in the history of English football.

Warnocks record in English football isn’t in question. The debate is about what he did with us.

As I understand it he joined us when we we’re a Championship team and he left us when we were a Championship team. Wilder joined us when we were a League 1 team and we’re currently a Championship team.

I’m surprised someone as pedantic as yourself is missing the point.

So you're only criteria is what division the club was in when a manager left?

Come on now, you're making yourself look silly.
