Yes, I know. I’m making the point that people also said Hodgy was too small but, in fact, he was actually quite good.

Would love to but just can't see us being able to compete salary wise on a permanent deal. There are probably 30-35 English clubs that could out do us - granted only a small percentage of them would be in the market for a new keeper but even so.

Cant see him ever signing for us..he plans on this year at Champ level, next year on loan at a Prem club (which if we go up would be us) then to be Man U number 1 / challenging for their number one in the following season when De Gea contract runs out and he goes back to Atletico.

When he was interviewed by United he said this was his plan and impressed staff hugely with his confidence. Claimed he would save us 15-20 points this season.

Why would De Gea go back to Atletico when they already have an excellent keeper there in Jan Oblak?
