Can't risk Duffy if he's not right, which means starting McGoldrick and risking a suspension for him.

Coutts probably isn't ready to start, so start Lundstram, on a ground he scored last season. He has a big point to prove.

Freeman has looked tired/below par recently. Start Baldock and preserve Freeman for the derby.

Sharp or Clarke could start, but I'd lean towards Clarke for this game and also think Sharp's more vital for the derby. Starting them together wouldn't really be an option with no attacking midfielder.

There's just no way in hell Sharp is being rested for this one after scoring a hat trick! McGoldrick will be the one to be rested purely because of the 4 bookings and we certainly need him against the pigs.

Bringing Lundstram back in would be bold but can only see happening if Duffy isn't fit. If he is fit, he starts.

Think the ban for 5 yellow cards comes into effect 7 days after the fixture, so even if he was booked against florist, he could play on the Friday

I wouldn't put Lundstram in if we can help it, although he did score at Forest last season. Ideally Egan will be fit as Crainie hasn't been involved enough to make me confident in his ability. I'd also play McGoldrick and hope he has the sense not to get booked. The one against Wigan was for blocking a free kick being taken (from memory) and therefore was needless, he isn't niggly or dirty so just needs to not be stupid.

Pick the strongest side to go and win this game. Let's not stoop to thinking our season revolves around 2 games against Wednesday. Go play Forest, hopefully beat them and then think about the derby, we're top of the league so every game is massive.

I think we should keep Jonah Lundstram away from the XI as much as possible.

If we decide to abandon footballing pursuits and turn our hand to MMA then he might be fit for purpose. In terms of a team now pushing for promotion, please no. To be moved on at the first possible chance.

Both Woodburn and Coutts are ahead of him anyway.

I was actually quite horrified when some of you mentioned him. I still feel quite nauseous now!

Every time Wilder tries to be too clever it backfires, more or less. Picking his best team doesn’t and 10/11 are clear first picks with 1 from Clarke/McGoldrick/Duffy missing our being the only decision up for debate in my mind. Given Duffy had an injury even that shouldn’t be that difficult. The only additional consideration is that if Egan isn’t fit, then Cranie debuts.

Each time we have gone top of the league this season and last we have lost our next game.

Leeds 1-2 Blades > QPR 1-0 Blades
Burton 1-3 Blades > Blades 4-5 Fulham
Blades 1-0 Hull > Derby 2-1 Blades
Blades 4-2 Wigan >

We'll have had a week since the Wigan game and will have then got 6 days until the derby. I'd expect Wilder to pick ten of the same XI which beat Wigan with the enforced replacement of Basham being the only change. He's been consistent in his mantra that you don't change a winning team unless it's a short turnaround between games.

Henderson
Egan/Cranie* Stearman O'Connell
Freeman Norwood Fleck Stevens
McGoldrick
Clarke Sharp
subs: Moore, Cranie/Bryan*, Johnson, Lundstram, Coutts, Duffy/Woodburn*, Washington

*fitness dependent

This . This and again this. Totally..

still .. not a bad team either that :)

Really? 2 out of that back 3 haven't kick3d a meaningful football for us. Washington is the new Run around Done. Coutts is nowhere near ready to start a game that really matters, Woodburn is clearly not on it whatsoever and Lundstram is , well never mind.
Apart from those 6 it's a brilliant team.
Unfortunately we aren't playing 5 a side!

probably better than the madkins team though !

Best team.

Let’s not get so wrapped up in the derby that we so willingly throw away 3 points.

Henderson
Egan Stearman O’Connell
Freeman Norwood Fleck Stevens
McGoldrick
Sharp Clarke

Probably no need to risk Duffy and McGoldrick is an ex-player.
Full focus has to be on the Forest game
