Billy for our next manager...

If Billy is serious about management then he needs to start now.

Find a pub like the Bradway (not the Bradway - I think it's a Spar now) and then work his way up the leagues.

It's called an apprenticeship. In a few years time we can revisit this thread but far too early at present.

Who knows whether Billy will end up a Manager, although it's documented that he loves coaching

One thing is sure tho, he has an excellent teacher and I would guess a lot of what CW says and does will rub off on Billy

I was thinking about this recently - Billy being made a long time permanent part of the club. Not necessarily manager but at least a coach. Then if he fancies his chances at management - GLTTL either at Bramall Lane or wherever he ends up.
Point being - he should have earned himself a paycheck for life at SUFC.

Why does CW and AK have to leave? Look how long Fergie was at Manure. Look how long Wenger was at Arsenal. Why can’t CW and AK buck the trend and be at beautiful downtown Bramall Lane for years and years, whilst teaching and training his immediate replacement over a long time? All of this while making SUFC the most successful team in the UK! Dare to Dream.
Because you can’t turn down the 3 lions.......or can you?

Just hope we don’t go “foreign” once we get to the Prem. It just wouldn’t suit SUFC to have a sharp suited continental in our dug out.

Just a conversatwe were having after the match yesterday and hopefully not for a good few years yet of course, but when the inevitable happends and Wilder leaves us for Barcelona, I wonder if Sharp could fit fairly seamlessly into the role?

He knows the club inside out, represents it well on and off the pitch and he loves the coaching side. I think he’d be worth a shout, maybe with somebody experienced by his side like Wilder has with Knill. Thoughts?

Hmm! I'm not sure tbh. Some folk said the same about Morgan. At the end of the day being a manager is a totally different set of attributes to being a player, or a coach. I've honestly no idea whether Billy has those qualities. I'd rather remember him as a successful player than a failed manager. He'll have to decide whether its for him, but love him though I do as a player, I've honestly had a belly full of this club trying out managers with no previous experience. If you look back down the years we've had several and none of them have been any good. If Billy is going to prove himself on the managerial front at some point, let him start out with non-league clubs like Chris has done, and prove his mettle there first.

So you mean like Chris Morgan, great club servant , worked under successful managers had coaching badges and an rapid apprenticeship what could go wrong?
Exactly my view. I thought Morgan would be perfect as a manager.

Someone allegedly ITK on here has said they are leaving in January if the board does not give them £50 million to spend.
I won't believe it until somebody on Porktalk posts it because they know somebody 'high up in the club who talks too much when they are drunk.'

I was thinking along the lines of proper succession planning the way Liverpool did with their players and staff for 20 years after Shankly
