Question for those in the know please

I am a season ticket holder on the KOP. GF wants to attend the Wendy game granted not a big football fan however she has been added to my Blades Ticket's account. Called the ticket office this morning and because she doesnt have 500 points i cannot buy a ticket yet there are plenty still available, lady at the ticket office stated new rules by SY Police??, GF attended the Sheffield Derby last season and previous other matches but not a chance for this one

i appreciate not a passionate fan like myself however seems a bit harsh that although tickets are available she cant have one unless she has more than 500 points,

apologies if this / similar issue has been discussed elswhere

any ideas or sugestions (serious ones only please)

Thank you

UTB

It's the same rules for the Leeds game as well.

Suggest speak to your Blades mates and see if they have a spare customer number not being used

Thank you so i assume it wont be the same issue for the Derby game on Boxing day?

Why do you feel, for a near guaranteed sell out game, your GF (who by your own admittance hardly ever attends) deserves a ticket to a showcase game over someone who attends more regularly and who might’ve not had the chance to buy a ticket yet?

....Asking for my GF.

You think SY Police have thought that far ahead yet ?. To be honest I would be surprised as the rivalry between us and Derby isn't as intense as the other two

deserves, where did i say that? it was merely a question, there are tickets left hence why i have enquired, if it was a sell out i wouldnt be asking, plenty of seats left to be fair, just seems daft that the club would lose out of £35 as id have moved my ticket probably to the BLU as i apprecite getting 2 decent tickets on the Kop next to each other without restrictions would be difficult

should i suggest that as i am a season ticket holder am i more deserving than someone who only has 500 points, no i wont but food for thought

fair point thank you for the measured response , appreciated

The ticket office has the discretion to sell tickets to a child’s account with less than 500 points if the linked adult account has over 500 points. Obviously there’s no guarantee, but if you went and spoke to the ticket office in person they may extend the same logic to other family members.

Matches I've taken GFs/partners to:

Norwich (2003)
Lincoln City (friendly)
Worksop (friendly)
Leicester (in the cup)
Fleetwood

Why do people only feel the urge to take infrequent supporters to the best games where tickets are scarce?

Just love it when the neutrals filter in for what should be the most passionate game of the season....

Come on, be fair, you only took the other half to these games, cos nobodyelse would go with you, didn't you?..............be honest!!;):p

Do you think they'd sell me a ticket if I said I want to take my cat??...., and would it count in the attendance figures ??

If we end up with hundreds of unsold seats for a derby when we're top of the league it won't be the club's finest hour.
Time to sell a few more yet though.

I took my Fiancee to the Sheffield derby - as her first game. I thought what a game to see as your first game! However the Missus hated how I behaved and we didn't speak for days! It was the game we lost 2 - 1 to them and in doing so were doubled for the first time since 1929 or whatever it was! She didn't get it at all!

I totally get your frustration though, its annoying to be not able to take someone who might not otherwise go to say Birmingham midweek and if another fan has over 500 points then they'd be able to get a ticket anyway, unless they waited till nearer the end. I doubt we'll sell out now to be honest.Surely allowing a known Customer to take someone who hasn't got over 500 points is not going to be a risk. The risk for the Police is people who have no loyalty points or history of buying tickets trying to be tickets on their own.
