Andy Murray is better than Jamie Murray. But Andy Murray pulled out of Wimbledon this year due to injury, that didn't mean that Jamie Murray was better than his brother.

Paul Coutts was injured all last season. John Lundstram and Lee Evans weren't, therefore, they must be better players right?

You really can't see the argument that you can't be good at something if you don't do it?

Paul Coutts wasn't a good footballer when he was out injured, how could he be, he had a broken leg.

So what have Hogan, Winnall and Gallagher done this season that makes you think they're better than McGoldrick?

Obviously nothing as they haven't played a game. I'm basing my opinion on previous seasons. But all the players listed in the OP (probably with the exception of Gallagher) are better strikers than David McGoldrick... That is based on FACTS, goals per game, actual facts!
I have nothing against David McGoldrick and what an astute signing he is proving to be, but the other players would've scored equal to, if not more than the 5 goals DMcG has scored, if they were playing for us.

I'll use Leon Clarke as an example - CWAK somehow got 19 Championship goals from him last season, Leon fucking Clarke!! My point is, they are doing the same with David McGoldrick now who if truth be told hasn't had a very good scoring record for a striker over the years. So, back to my original point in the thread, imagine what they could do with a striker who has scored decent numbers over the years.

Another example - Billy Sharp. Everybody knows Billy scores goals, he has done throughout his career, but, he is currently enjoying his most prolific spell at ANY club throughout his career.

CWAK could probably get Conor Sammon and Michael Higdon scoring goals

So, to take Sam Winnall as an example. He hasn't played for over 8 months with his last game being at the beginning of February 2018 and yet you think that he's currently a better player than a Striker who playing, and scoring, regularly for a team that is top of the league?

Previous seasons are all well and good but how far do you go back? Darren Bent has a much better goals per game ratio than McGoldrick, he's also still a free agent. Would you suggest that we sign him?

Your original point was something I agreed with, those listed could be players that Wilder gets the best out of. You then followed it up with the comment that they're all better players than McGoldrick anyway which just isn't true. It's easy to fall into the trap of going on past reputations, the actual facts are that 3 of those players aren't playing, unlike McGoldrick who is currently playing very well.
