ok i can understand why mr blackwell would want to keep things tight away from home but surely if we have ambition for automatic promotion we need to be taking all 3 points from places like the ricoh,it shows a complete lack of ambition and belief in his team to go out and try and boss a game away from t'lane, dont get me wrong we have had an excellent start and one loss doesn't change anything,i just think we need to start having a more positive outlook when playing away

We had the best away record in the division last season playing 4-5-1 away from home. It was our home record where we played 4-4-2 that let us down in the end.

The formation was not the problem last night, it was just 2 defensive cock ups really. We would have played 4 at the back wether it be 4-4-2, 4-3-3, 4-5-1 or 4-0-6.

radio and tv seem to think it is 4-3-3 anyway which can revert to 4-5-1 if we are under the cosh a bit. When ward is playing it is like have 2 strikers anyway.

Yep, it's a very fluid 4-5-1, more like 4-2-4 at times with Wardy, Keef and even Squinny getting in scoring positions. Daft as it sounds, the system is only 'wrong' when we don't get the right result and if we'd taken our chances in the 1st half, maybe we wouldn't be having these discussions today.

Be interested to see who is in midfield when we go back to 4-2-4 on Friday; I expect Quinn and Monty as I still think Harper is not match fit.

If we do go 4-4-2 I think Squinny will lose out, there's no point in dropping Harper if all he needs is games under his belt.
