If people have regularly attended for 10 years, and continue to do so, bringing in a rolling 5 year scheme won't make a difference but if they stop going for 1 year, 2 years, their points would reduce which is arguably fairer ?
The problem you have is that, as it stands, someone who got their 1st season ticket in the Prem but has not been since the Huddersfield play-off fiasco gets preference over someone who has had one for the last 5 years. How should 'loyalty' apply there ?
Bottom line is there's no easy way, I potentially get more points for travelling round the corner to Fleetwood than I would for a home game for example. Effort v points doesn't work home/away either although you'd expect the majority of home fans to be local I guess.Well it's pretty much the same I think. Plus anyone attending away games in the last five years may have more. But that doesn't cover the issue of someone having an ST for all of that period losing maybe half of their points.
The real issue is youngsters getting on the ladder. My son is 18. Has well over 40000 points. Nowhere near the top of the pile, but enough for the majority of away games.

But given it is only one ticket per membership number then he must be using somebody's membership to buy your ticket. Use that one!I have 250 points because although I usually go to 5-6 games per season I don't do it through my official account. A mate buys em and I give him the money.
NOT FAIR I TELLS THEE
This answers the age-old question of “Are the dead counted in attendance figures?”
Based on this, and my earlier post, the answer would appear to be “Yes”.
Nope. There’s no bigger Blade than our Uncle Kev and he’s got zero loyalty points.I've got 34500 loyalty points, does that make me the biggest Blade![]()

I’ve got close to 50,000. I am an old fart. I’ll be dead soon anyhow, like a lot of folks at the top end of the loyalty point scheme, so your turn will come sonny! Keep going to the games and one day you might have one as big as mine!![]()
Why should recent loyalty be rewarded in front of previous loyalty. The reasons people don't attend as much in recent times are many and varied such as moving away from the area, suffering health issues. financial problems etc.Absolutely. The bulk of my loyalty points are from the 2007/08 to 2009/10 season when I had a season ticket. I’ve not had one since, and while I have been to a reasonable number of games in the years since, the reality is that I’ve probably got a similar number of customer points to someone that’s attended everything the last three seasons. I don’t think I should have equal status for ticket purchasing – I’d be fully supportive of us deciding a cut-off point where you essentially get rid of old points, even though I fully accept it’ll reduce the ease I have of getting tickets. 10 years seems wholly reasonable at the very least – there’s an argument 5 years would be far better for reflecting recent loyalty rather than past loyalty.
I'm 41, hopefully i'll make it to 50k loyalty points![]()

No system will suit everyone just leave the systems as it is.
We’re talking relatively recent though, and to be honest there will never be a system perfectly set up for all – but if you have to make decisions on who to give priority to somehow, this way would on the balance of things make it a fairer system than it is currently in my view. I already think it’s unfair to a lot of younger fans, and the issue of not archiving past points is only going to be exacerbated the longer it’s left untouched. There will be loads of guys 30 plus that will have been to a Sheffield derby at Hillsborough in their lifetime, yet we have a system designed in a way that makes it increasingly more difficult for future fans to have that experience. What’s frustrating is that it’s also set up in a way that allows people that say refused to watch us at all in League 1 (by choice) retain their loyalty point advantage over much younger fans that did so. That doesn’t feel right.
I think the fairest thing is a rolling, say, 7 or 10 year period. If you are a consistently loyal Blade (e.g 10-15 games a season let’s say) then you’ll always be in with a shout of gettting tickets, and if you have 2/3 years where you dip out then there might be a few away games you might not manage to be eligible for but it’s the fairest way of spreading it out.Your last point us the main issue for me. Someone with 30000 plus points from the last six seasons should have priority over someone with the same points from the six seasons before that and very few since.
What happens to young uns wanting to get away tickets? Are you goosed unless you’ve got 10 years plus of loyalty points?
Yep
Away attendances are way down and have been since our loyalty points system was introduced. Dad's can't go with sons and Grandsons, mates can't go with other mates
We're not Man United, just get a big allocation in the first place and get the fuckers sold instead of asking for 1500 and then spending a week and a half waiting for highest loyalty points holders to claim them leaving no time to apply a further allocation.
If we don't sell out there is absolutely no excuse, loyalty points doesn't stop us selling out in the slightest.
