Look it's like this.

Years ago when sufclucy was tiny, and we were away at Ipswich, and I was studying alongside sufclucy's Mummy, I couldn't get to the away match in midweek. It tipped it down with snow, but the curse was starting to gather momentum.

It's the 'still at home and pouring a drink' curse. I mistimed getting a drink, and as I poured myself a drink,

Ipswich scored.

Then some mates turned up. As I poured their drinks,

Ipswich scored.

sufclucy needed some milk (she was only five months old at the time), and as I made her milk up, and poured it ......

Ipswich scored.

We lost 3-2 (Franz Carr scored from about 4 miles out that night), and I always blamed myself. Whenever I pour a drink and I'm not at the match, a goal goes against us.

Away to Wolves, 2-0 up in injury time, and absolutely knackered and dehydrated through cooking for several hours, I thought I could get away with it. I made a drink. Before my coffee spoon had left the cup, Wolves had a penalty, which was despatched. Thinking I'd beaten the curse, I scoffed, but within a minute De Wolf, who had scored the penalty, looped a header over Kelly.

The curse of the "HH drink" had struck again. It happens every time. You'd think I'd have learnt by now.

Tonight, while waiting for an ebay auction to end, I didn't get a drink before the start of the second half. I risked it, and I asked Mrs HH "What happens when I take a drink during the match, and I'm not in the ground?". It was derided as superstitious poppycock.

I'd not even got out of the kitchen as the equaliser went in.

So, to all and sundry, my profuse apologies. I buggered up your away day.

I just wish her stunned silence would last a lot longer. Like about 8 years.

It takes a brave man to admit responsibility. Are you to blame for alll the worlds ills?

Disgraceful young man.......

Now if only you could find a way to make us score :)

Only on Day Before Thursdays. Anything that happens on Day Before Thursday is my fault. War, doom, pestilence, whooping cough, stubbed toes, the lot. Down to me.

From Thursday through to Tuesday I'm completely absolved of everything (apart from the "HH drink" curse), because of the enormity of my burden on Day Before Thursdays, so I can do whatever the hell I please without compunction.

That said, as I'll get the blame for everything on Day Before Thursday, I do even more of what I want then. I'm going to take the blame anyway, so why not :D

Could have told me to expect it before hand :) It was an unpleasant happening sat in the cold upper tier at Portman Road.

Had to dredge this up again. Helpfully, a drink was poured for me during the first half, and promptly City go one up.

I think I'm safe to go for a voddy and coke at the end of the interval, mistime it by about twenty seconds, and look what happens straight afterwards. I'm telling you, I'm cursed.

I'm not taking responsibility for the third though. I was typing this then. However, without the curse, this could have been the equaliser.

Please, please, please put the drinks away!! :D

It was my fault as well Last Night.

I was in Tesco's and hadn't paid much attention to the game, first time this season (seems to be an opposite of last season).:( Till after I left, we pulled the other goal back then. :)

Sorry

Thank god you owned up to it HH, here was me thinking it was my fault cos I was wearing my new Blades shirt. I usually buy a new top each season (usually a training top or polo shirt cos I've not been keen on the replica kits for a while). So this season I've worn a polo shirt for each game and we've been ok. Then last week I bought this seasons home top and this was the first game I've worn it for. Naturally I assumed it was my fault we lost ;)

That usually happens when I buy a new top too La Blade, I haven't bought it this season maybe I should avoid buying one. :D

Well, I half blame myself because I've been trying to reverse jinx things by predicting draws or defeats on the betting thingy before each game. The other 50% of the blame goes to the mods, who didn't set it up for last night's match, so I couldn't do it!

Well get a top but dont wear it on match days, and certainly not on Friday:D

Last time i listened to us on the radio was Norwich away last season. Lost 1.0.

I listened last night :(

Nope - it's definitely HH's fault. He says so, his ex has been saying so for years, his missus says so, his kids say so - and his mates say so too.

The answer my friend is to lay the jinx by buying all yer mates the first round on Friday!! See you at the Lion!! :D :D
