Good read again, I like the Sheeran piece as well. We have a surprisingly low amount of hip-hop fans in our squad.

Just one criticism - as my Mrs would have your guts for garters its SCOTS not Scotch - but brillaint stuff as usual apart form that !

Excellent as always. Did you tell TJ he was going to be part of your latest tale?

I didn't. Left him rabbitting on..

Can I have a pint of whatever it is you’re drinking please?

Almond milk?

Haha, I did know that for having some Scotch in me. It was an intentional burn to myself - plagiarising an old Stewart Lee joke about the use of Scotch - using the pejorative form Scotch for my favourite player. Does that get me a pass?

great reads as always , cheers Steve

loving Duff Man's Red Ed bouncing like a Pre-September Pig!

I downloaded an Ed Sheeran album once, I managed to listen to about half of it and have been nowhere near it since.

And, for those that are interested, some bonus reading called, "Rating every player by the likelihood of them switching off an Ed Sheeran song."

Could you do at some point do one rating them on likelihood of them giving Ben Woodburn a game of chess*?

“It’s hard to find people my age who are so into it,” Alexander-Arnold says. “When I get the chance to find someone I’ll play them. With Ben Woodburn I used to go on away games all the time and we couldn’t go on our phones on the plane so we’d play chess against each other on our laptops. It was fairly even.”

My money would be on Alan Knill or Richard Stearman.

*yes, I know that it’ll be a hilarious point for some to highlight it’s the most likely game he is to play at the moment

I heard about this. As a chess player myself, I might do an article rating each player according to the chess opening they are most likely to prefer: for the avoidance of doubt John Egan would be the Stonewall.

Good read as ever apart from using “gotten” instead of got, but you pulled it back somewhat with the “top of the bastard league” comment.
A decent effort at a recovery.
