Blackburn atmosphere

When you compare the size of the two Towns/Cities it's not that bad.

We've averaged 18k before. 11k is about 7% of their population whereas 18k is about 3% of ours. Even if you double it to take in the pigs, it's still less than 7%

Even if we average 24k, that's still only 4% of 575k
Two teams in Sheffield though, so you could arguably half the potential fan base.

I see your point though and I'd argue that 575k is undershooting it. We draw a large fan base from the surrounding towns. I can't see Blackburn doing that to the same extent.

Blackburn could probably argue there’s a lot of clubs in the North West to contend with.

Watching via the ifollow , you could hear noise from our lot most of the night - great effort blades

i think generally crowd noise has dropped significantly over all crowds as others have said , safe standing etc needs to be back to help this

i agree our home crowd need a kick up the arse sometimes but when its good - its fantastic and i think overall our atmosphere is above par and one of the better ones in this league

also the way virtually 100% of the teams play against us at home is to slow the play down to painfully slow and basically defend with 11 players behind the ball for 90 minutes - it does help the crowd and players when the opposition have a slight bit of enthusiasm to actually play football and try and get near our goal !

when they went 'round the grounds' on the radio sheff commentary it sounded like a morgue at the other games , particular at the pig shed - and that's literally after they have scored !!

Blackburn Rovers are effectively Lancashire's Sheffield Wednesday.

And that's all I have to say about Blackburn Rovers. The deluded, failing, bunch of wankers.

pommpey

It was bizarre.

I don't understand why so many make the effort to get to a game like that on a Wednesday night only to show no enthusiasm or desire to back the team.

Obviously not enough time to sink the required 9 pints.

But this is a non issue at the side of our home support.
We win away with a stellar performance to go joint top of the Championship ,I thought to myself nobody can have a moan tonight surely. But there you are ,you had to dig deep but it takes a special find of supporter to find a negative on nights like that.
Fuck the league ,as long as we sing a song eh ?

Don't worry Mr Manbaby, I've posted some nice things about your team as well.

Or does that get cancelled out if I post anything 'negative'?

Would appreciate it if you could advise me on the required positive to negative post ratio. Thanks.

FWIW you could hear our support pretty well on the Sky stream.

Oddly, the TV camera was from the "wrong" side of Ewood Park, but the effects miles obviously hadn't been switched round, as the Blades were to the left of my screen, but the noise they were makeing was coming through my right earphone...
Have you had your ears replaced recently or removed for cleaning? Sounds like they've been put back on the wrong way around...

Weve got the worst fans ever

Your second point is contradicting.

If I've undershot it, surely that makes the percentage lower ?!

On the button, on the button, and we're all fucking wankers on red button

The commentator certainly was. Everything was from a Blackburn perspective. I guess he’s a local hack having his 90 minutes of alternative fame?

Our fans aren't like Galatasaray and we don't have an embarrassing ultra's home section like Palace.

Football has changed for a number of reasons.

I'd love there to still be a West Terrace, or G and H block. I'd love my Mum and Dad to still be alive to see my son grow up.

Life sucks sometimes.

Atmospheres are poor everywhere much of the time. We can all point to various grounds where we go away and say how good the home fans were, but we don't see how quiet they were with 400 Reading fans there the week before.

We're nowhere near as bad as some make out by comparison. By all means try to improve the support for the team, but the constantly whingeing and criticism of our support is not only boring, it's well out of proportion based on everyone else's.

I don't understand why somebody makes the effort to organise a singing section and then show no enthusiasm or desire to back the team.

What the fuck are you talking about?

Because I criticise support on here, I don't 'back the team'? How's that work?

I believe it's the same coverage as what you get on iFollow which usually has local commentators doesn't it?

Arranging a singing section and sitting there like scared mice. How did that "back the team"?

Moaning on here all transfer window? Moaning about our support?

It's getting tedious.

Watching it on Sky , I thought the volume was pretty good but , as ever , the tempo was fucking awful . They usually start off o.k but after a couple of lines , most can't wait to get to the end , as in :-

We All Belong To Wilder's Army
We're not going to Wemberly
Andwedon'tgiveafuckcostheBladesaregoingup .........etc.

Can someone point out to the Kop Choir that when singing , making luurv to a beautiful woman or swinging a golf club , tempo is crucial and if you try to speed it up halfway through it inevitably results in a complete fuck up *(usually resulting in tears all round )

* No pun intended

Something's definitely getting tedious.

None of those have anything to do with 'backing the team'.

The first game in the upper tier we gave it a go. The next two were write offs from the start. That anyone would slag me off for my efforts there is absolutely laughable, but unsurprising.

Is there anybody out there who can actually define 'showing enthusiasm and desire to back the team'

What is the qualifying criteria for this?

Well if the really old geezers could hear it........:)

I don't know, to occasionally join in with chants pre-goal I guess.
