Reight, reads to me like "reet".

But it's not reight, or reet, and its definitely not right.

Right is from Old English riht, like night is from niht.
Now people say neet for night, so presumably reet is for right.
So I reckon that right/reet is English.
But we were in the Danelaw here, and picked up some Viking words.
Reight is from Old Norse réttr, which is the Viking equivalent of riht.
So reet is Yorkshire dialect for right, and reight is Yorkshire dialect for réttrView attachment 44784
