Give me a 1.2.3. for win %. as manager of the Blades. 1 being the best. No cheating.

Just for fun. I know it is different divisions so it is not a fair fight.

David Weir is by far the worst at a shocking 7.69%

Harris
Furphy
Porterfield
Bassett.
Kendall.
Spackman.
Warnock.
Blackwell.
Wilson.
Clough.
Wilder.

Has Adkins been erased from history? (If not, he should be).

Wilder: 54.46% (League)

  1. Wilder
  2. Wilson
  3. Clough
However, the latter two only managed us in the pub league.

For the sake of balance, so did the former for half of his tenure.

Whichever way you cut it, the only ones who can be considered are Harris, Basset and Warnock (in that order) as they got us to the big dogs league and managed in it.

I think by "managed in it" you mean managed to fuck it up royally. Nope, not having it.

True, he took a team that missed the title by a couple of wins and got them relegated the following season. Though I totally blame the board of the time. We needed 3 or 4 players to be really challenging at the top. The ageing Dearden needed replacing (we ended up with Guthrie) another midfielder to play alongside Currie and at least two defenders.

Wilder: 54.46%
Wilson: 51.72%
Spackman: 45.45% (only 33 games, tho').
Clough: 44.3%
Blackwell: 43.52%
Warnock: 42.53%
Adkins: 39.13%

Six foot two
Eyes of blue
Big Chris Guthries after you
La la la la la la la la lah

First time ever we had £100k to spend. Thanks for reminding me! That's probably why the board didn't give him any more after that.

He wanted and agreed with Francis Lee, but was told no as he had no resell value, so was steered towards the up and coming goal scoring talent from Southend.

Ah yes, Google and Wikipedia, a great combination :)

Not at all. Cheeky git! Just working my way through 'The Complete Record' (plus, of course, my invaluable updates...).

Here's John Harris in Wikipedia. Managerial stats?

My personal favourite? Dave Bassett. He will go down as a legend. Perhaps we'll have a statue of him. And maybe our fans will spell his name correctly? C'mon, snoots, you'd need a Bassett to get you in the big dogs league. :D

But more than bland stats, it's the memories DB gave us, but he cut a pretty forlorn figure at the end (as did NW).

Sure do. The coconut ones with the liquorice in the middle are my favourites!
