As an experience it's the most unpleasant one I've ever had by and large. My first visit was for DON Megsons testimonial, then Man Utd winning 3 1 and Birmingham City on their kip who kicked 7 bells out of them. Can't remember why I went other than to support the Brummies. Then the Zenith data game, the league cup defeat under Martin Peters and the boxing day thing. Best 2 visits were Bobby Davison 3 1 and the 2 1 win by Man City that relegated the bastards. Funny how the stadium of a club one despises can have a few happy memories.

I've only been 3 times pigs 0 pompey 0, pigs thought we were Portsmouth fans and confronted us, they were gob smacked when we said no mate Blades, they did fa, also pigs 3 chesterfield 3 salmons scoring for chezzy, I was on their kop, hard work trying not to cheer when the 3rd went in to equalise, Boxing day game, what a farce that was, never been back since or ever will.

Can't believe you have so few good memories of that place

Bobby Davison game
Michael Tonge and Ade Akinbiyi
Carl Asaba and Laurent DJaffo
Bouncykiller

We've had more than our fair share of good times there considering the Sheffield Derby is not exactly an annual occurrence

I was at this game Wendy 4 Manure 4.

Notable cos the ManU fans took over their kop so had fans on both sides.

I remember the Manure fans walking the pitch before the game started and the Wendy fans splitting, just letting them take over.

You can see a 0.36 Manu fans celebrate at the kop end.

Then at 5.09 and 5.30, in the second half, Manu fans celebrating at Leppings lane end.

Lilly livered pigs. Sqeel like a piggy boy.

Saw United play only twice at Swillsborough as a little kid. We got promoted and in 1961/62 we beat them 2-1 with Doc Pace getting two goals in the first half always remember and can still see him slotting a cool ball past Springett loved it. Then we lost 1-3 in 1963 . I Remember Joe Shaw was injured and didn’t play that night. I vowed that night I would never venture in that shit hole ever again and I haven’t.
As I kid on the bus going past Swillsborough I used to spit in my hand a tradition I have carried on to this day

never seen us lose there so I don’t have bad memories of that dump..

Got threw out for calling waddle a sausage packing fucker (from thier west stand) they let me straight back in, them were the days..

I went with a mate from school in 00/01 I think.

They beat Coventry 5-1.

Hated it.

Went back with same mate for the game v Palace where they drew and were relegated.

Loved it.

Only other times have been for Blades games - with mixed emotions.

Personally never seen us win there. I was on their south for the worthington cup game in 2001(??) which we lost in extra time. Saw us lose 2-0 despite hammering them all game (Kuqi scored). Swore I won’t ever go again.

January 1992,what a weekend,on the Saturday went to Southampton and we won 4-2,because of work commitments on the Sunday went to the sty in hospitality and Leeds beat them 6-1...
Shortly after,we beat Forest away 5-2,and Man City at the lane 4-2
soon after it was Bobby Davison's turn...happy days

Sadly I was abroad for last season's epic win their as well as the Akinbyi fixture.

I went to that same Man City game and was on their kop aged about 12 I think. City werent even trying and didn't celebrate much when scoring as it was an end of season nothing game for them. My dad took me to watch them go down lol. Things were different then but then you had to be there or read about it in the paper the next day.

Been to a few Sheffield derbies there. None better than the last one of course.

First one was 1970 - back in the days when they had no roof on their kop. I remember when the teams came out there were hundreds of red and white scarves appeared on their kop which brought a loud cheer from us Blades on the leppings lane end. That was a sight to behold, a big chunk of their kop “taken” by the Blades. It was all about taking someone’s kop back in those days.

That seem game, Mick Prendergast, Owls striker, a real nasty piece of work, spat full on in the face of Blades goalie John Hope. We had a close view of it. I thought then what a vile creature he was and what a vile club this was. I haven’t changed my mind since. Prendergast died fairly recently. I wasn’t one of the hypocrites who wished him RIP, I thought he was scum of the lowest order, but at least he’d found the perfect club for him!

I was there as well, I worked across the road at the time.
It looked like MC could hardly be arsed to try and score but the Pigs were so bad it didn’t really matter and they won easily.
Funny to see all the oinkers in tears at the end.
Wonder how many Blades were there that night.

I've been 8 times. The Pigs are unbeaten in those 8 games. I stopped going as a result. Haven't been there since 1995.

Last time I went was early 90's. It was a pre-season "friendly", think it was called the Steel City Trophy. All I can remember is we got a last minute winner and I missed the bus so had to walk back to the city centre. Does anyone else have any more details (of the game, not my walk home)

Very bad memories, never been since 1979 , hate the place. Fucking Derek Teflon Richardson.

Never been when we haven't been playing and I've only been to Elland Road once when we haven't been there.

2 Clubs I despise.

When I lived in Nottingham I used to go watch County, The Stags or Forest on an occasional basis if I couldn't get to our game and if Arnold Town weren't at home that day.

When in Maidenhead I watched a fair bit of Maidenhead United and once went to see Leyton Orient play Hartlepool or Darlington. I was so engrossed that I can't remember which. I had mates staying with me that wanted to go to a game and that was the nearest one we could get to without much hassle over tickets, travel etc.

Never really been a fan of games that we're not playing in and rarely even watch any others on the tv, let alone got to them.

Arnold Town and Maidenhead United exempted from the above as I had a genuine local interest at the time and it didn't really conflict with being a Blade.

Been every time we’ve played there since knee high. Always, always have knotted stomach on route and hate the place with an unbelievable, irrational passion.

First visit as a nipper I was stood on their kop. Had blades bobble hat on. Was a county cup game. Ran on pitch at end of game and a pig nicked my hat. Began my pure hated of them still held to this day.

Pleased to say my two lads now feel the same way and to see their faces last September gave me so much pleasure!

every time i drive past i sing no pig fans in town.. even our lass joins in these days :D

I live in Wadsley Bridge and drive past the place on PENIStone Rd to work and back. There's 4 inlaid brickwork sections on the wall which I always feel would look much better with S U F C added with indelible red paint in them.
I won't be doing this much as I'd like to so this is a disclaimer just on the off chance.......
