Not something I can answer yet.

Norwood arguably has a better pedigree and has started like a freight train for us, but Coutts formed part of the best midfield trio I have ever seen for United, over a season and a half, and had he not got injured I think that would have carried on.

They could be painting pictures together on the turf before too long, so I will revisit the question later in the season.

If I had to choose, it would have to be Norwood right now. However, they do different jobs so there's no reason as to why they couldn't play together with Coutts playing more of a DM role, with Norwood alongside Fleck playing the role of the one running the game between the two of them.

My choice would be to let CW carry on making the decisions and to carry on picking squads like Saturday that made me proud to be a Blade.

What’s the parameters we’re being asked to compare against? Coutts and Norwood now? Or Norwood now and Coutts before his injury?

You can not have too many proper footballers on the pitch. When Wilder has everyone at his disposal, it will be (as he has already said more than once) his job to work out how best to deploy them.

Coutts and Norwood are similar players to the extent that they are both brilliant midfielders who control the tempo of the game and make the team tick, but I really don't understand this premise that we can only play one or the other.

I'm looking forward to them both being on the park and the opposition barely getting a kick of the ball.

OR you could drop Stevens with a back four (say JOC EGAN BASH FREEMAN) 2 of Norwood and Coutts, then 3 of Fleck, Duffmeister and poss Woodburn/McGoldrick with Billy up front. Well maybe for away games at least. There again, why change why we’ve already got? Oh, I’d be (and was) a rubbish manager!

Why do a small section of football fans always do this? It can't just be a brilliant group of players, there has to be a best? Just give your support to the players, let Wilder do the rest.

It’s hard to fit them all in unless Coutts did the Connor Coady role at Wolves? This is a situation for CW and AK to resolve. Not sure what’s best but it’s for them to think about during training etc.

I personally think Norwood is technically a better player than Coutts, and he's certainly given us another dimension from set-pieces. It's amazing that we have a player of such quality in midfield while Coutts gets fit again, and when he is, it will be a hell of a fight for that position. It's a wonderful dilemma to have.

I’ve emptied my ‘likes’ tray for this one. Unless they’re hidden under the agenda somewhere? No, can’t see them. I’ll get some more in next time I go out for the crayons...

As for the thread itself, why?
