Wednesday have played 4 out of the bottom 5, whereas we have played 3 of the top 10 including the two favourites for the title. They've only played one team higher than 20th.

Yep thats reight a point below us and without a pot to piss in and Strapon in charge ............ we've got loads of money and the savior McCabe in charge..... sumats not reight.

Let's compare those results when we have played the likes of Scunny, Barnsley, Peterborough, and Plymouth all of which have conceded an average of 2 goals a game.

I'm all for comparrisions but lets keep it like for like eh?

Lets look at Wednesday results against WBA, Boro, Leicester, Reading and even Watford. If they stay unbeaten and get 9 points from that lot I'll admit you might have a point.

Pound for pound Strafford is far outperforming McCabe. Strafford must be around 300lb and McCabe nearer 190lb.

We are by far better as previous posters have said they have only played one very strong side in Newcastle and they lost.

We have played West Brom, Middlesborough, Reading etc and have come away unbeaten.

For me thats surpassed all my expectations for these results!

Of course you can only beat what is infront of you but to try and use league placings after 5 games is just nonsensical, it doesn't tell you anything.

If Wednesday are one point below us after 23 games then you might have a point but when we haven't even played the same team yet.
It seems a comparison made just to knock a club who have started the season unbeaten despite having what is in my opinion the toughest start to the season of any other team.

If a team is in League 2 it is because they haven't produced over a number of years in comparison to a Premier League team.

If somebody is in the same league - then it would be wise to assume that they are of the same level.

It's only as ridiculous as comparing league placings after 5 games, especially when Wednesday have only played one team higher than 20th.

If you want to compare league placings at least do it when we have both played a reasonable cross section of the league.

When did I compare league standings?

I simply stated that pound for pound - the Owls are doing better than us. Simply because they have barely spent anything.

Well I was actually taking about Beighton, but you've compared them none the less.

By stating that pound for pound they are doing better than us is comparing us after 5 games which proves nothing apart from that certain "Blades" will use anything to have a grumble at our decent start to the season.
As I posted previously why not wait until we are at least a decent way through the season to make a worthwhile comparison.

I was commenting on a thread that has been posted now - so not really my musings....

But that's the issue isn't it, it isn't comparing like for like so isn't really worth a great deal. It's is as someone else posted like comparing league two results with the Premiership because it isn't balanced.

Therefore I would say an early season comparison is worthless as you can't take a great deal from it.

I suppose the fact that they beat us twice last season with the same team they have now and if anything ours is weaker due to the players sold with the exception of the signing yesterday it could be argued pound for pound they have a better side and Laws has done a good job. Also if only 4 games have been played 25% of the available points to the teams at the bottom were lost to Wednesday so Wednesday contribute to their position but lets remember tables are meaningless look at Burnleys start last year bottom after quite a few games. In the good old days I think it was 6 games before anybody even bothered to print tables. Maybe a better yardstick is the recent games between us, dont shoot the messenger lol

Well they all started on nil points, but by the end of the season 3 will go up and 3 down to different levels.
