Everton paid 75% of beatie wages, they just wanted him out as he was billy big Bellox. We let him go as soon as they stopped contributing.
All allegedly of course

Let me get this straight.
I take it Villa and us are after the same thing ie promotion.
Villa obviously don't think Hogan is good enough for them and given his injury record would sooner have Abraham.
We on the other hand are allegedly going to spunk 35k a week on him, which is an awful lot of money for us a club not exactly flush with money.
God i hope this is not true, yes we need a Striker but Hogan is just not worth the risk for a club in our position. There must be better alternatives out there including Abraham.

Just hope its the usual bllcks from Nixon. Why would we pay full wages to an injury prone player who hasn't played for months when we weren't prepared to break the wages ceiling for Waghorn. If true smacks of desperation and calls into question this windows transfer strategy. Would rather we didn't waste the money and wait for the JTW than be lumbered with a very expensive liability for a full season. There has to be better alternatives out there.

Maybe because we didnt think it was worth breaking the structure for Waghorn but it is on a loan for Hogan which will effectively only cost 1.2m? Maybe we have clauses in the loan where we dont pay if hes injured / unfit. The 2 situations are not really comparable.

I do however hope Nixon is talking utter bollocks and we actually get abraham.... A man can dream :(

I would hazard a guess (and I think it's far from unreasonable), that the loan of Tammy Abraham would cost a hell of a lot more than Hogan.

Given he's a very desireable asset, one would presume there'd be a significant fee involved for the season, in addition to his wages.

Imo a ‘ a club in our position’ is one missing a decent striker. This is a gamble but it could work, I think we have to take a risk.

I trust Wilder over Bruce.

It isn't a case of wages with Tammy Abraham. He wants to try his luck at Chelsea this year. Everything I read about him Indicates that he will be pushing for their first team squad this year- or trying to at least.

If we are perpared to pay big loan wages, then we want someone who is going to earn it on the pitch not the treatment table...........dont go throwing £ away United.

So must be a fit and ready player, who can go straight into the team and play like he has been here months...........just like Oliver Benchmark.

If we are going to spend daft money on wages, why not just go for Abraham instead of Villa? Rather that than subsidise them getting him by paying one of their crocks for them.

Loftus-Cheek didn't make the squad for the Arsenal game, so not sure how many chances Abraham will get if he stays at Chelsea.

todays Star hints Hogan is not what we are looking for,,, phew
assombolonga ,,, might be the big lump we could utilise if Boro are looking at other options

I mean I’m sure we’d love Abraham and wilder would too , but they’ll be about 20/30 teams in front of us so unlikey

You won't be saying that once we have signed Assombalonga and Abraham.

Did not believe premiership clubs could dign anyone. Which leaves Jim to move on to the champion or try to get into the Chelsea team
We have a good relationship with Chelsea and we play good football unlike most of our competition.
If he wants to improve as a player there is only one choice

I too share your blind enthusiasm.
