I know it shouldn't bother me but..... why?

Can anyone please explain it to me?

Chuffed with the win and hope that it stops this happening

But on the bright side it meant we got out much quicker tonight and there were fewer queues for the pisser on the way home.

You're right though - frickin morons who leave early!!

If people want to leave early for their own personal reasons, then let them leave. They've paid for the ticket, what business is it of anyone else's?
I sometimes leave early, to miss the traffic, as I have over an hours journey home. But it depends on how the match is going, a bomb scare wouldn't have made me leave early today, but I won't condemn those who did, perhaps they've learnt a valuable lesson in judgement?

But while we're on the subject, how come those who head to the concourse ten minutes before half time and come back five minutes after, get a free ride when ever this subject comes up? What's more, there's a lot of United 'fans' who don't even fucking turn up in the first place........just saying ;)

I remember as a kid having to leave early against Norwich to pick my mum up from Safeways. They'd had a player sent off for swearing at the ref within 10 minutes (Chris, pacey striker?) and we'd toiled and got nowhere. Just as we're walking out the crowd gets up and Dane Whitehouse scored the winner in the 91st (or something minute).

I do not understand why people leave early when there's only a goal in it.

I'm at the back of the Kop, and people up there are leaving on 88 minutes.

What the fuck is that all about?

I might expect it from people with free tickets in BLUT, but them? Right in amongst where all the noise and support should be, we have pathetic cunts like these leaving with 6 minutes to go.

It sums things up. The crowd were flat today and these fuckers epitomise why it is the way it is.

The areas where vocal support should come from are infested with droves of random passionless twats who shouldn't be there.

And the twats that leave there seats and then congregate around the top of the steps. Isn't that how the Ibrox disaster happened when someone scored and they all tried to go back into the ground. Feckin phase 5 stewards don't do owt to make em leave.

I stagger up the Kop 10 minutes in, go for a piss on 20, queue for a pint at 37, stagger back up on 55, another piss on 70, leave on 84. I can't believe how many 0-0 draws we have.

Mid-80's ish? we were 1-0 up in an away night match at West Ham.
Me and my old man sat with a friend of his (a Hammers fan) and, suitably pissed off, with 3 or 4 minutes left he said something like,"Come on then, I'll get you back to your car"
Outside the ground we heard a quietish cheer and assumed it was either the Blades cheering a second or the final whistle confirming our 1-0 win.
About a minute later we heard a large roar so thought the Shammers must have scored a consolation goal
Turned out they'd been awarded a penalty which accounted for the first mini roar and then converted it.
It finished 1-1, but we'd no idea until we heard it on the radio!

I took my 4 year old who was getting bored and tired on 80 mins!

Can’t believe the amount of people I saw leaving when I did (minus kids)

It wasn't flat last week at qpr last week i assure you 20mins+ of oh what a night, away support is completely different to the home support, for reasons i know not.

Proper winds me up seeing people leaving early during a game like today. As it’s been said, they deserved to miss the goal and celebrations!

What sort of message does it send out to the players when they see hoards of people leaving at 1-1? Thankfully it didn’t make a difference today but it probably has in the past and will do in the future.

Got to own up here as I was heading down the kop steps as Sir Billy scored. Never done it before but the vicar, all the guests and especially my beautiful bride were getting mighty pissed off.

Doesn't wind me up.. they pay, they can go whenever they want.

Ive left early a few times when needed to for work or for a train, live by the sword die by the sword as they say.. ive dropped lucky as ive never really missed owt when ive had to leave!

Yeah we’ve had this topic before and you’ll get some lies in response to it for sure. There’ll be stories of having to leave early for work or to catch public transport. The truth is the majority of these fans had mentally given up on the team. That’s why they left early, no other reason whatsoever.

And that’s fine btw - just admit it that’s all, rather than lying about it.

I rarely leave early myself, but I can think of one match in the last 40 years when I did, and that was the semi final play off v Swindon away. When we went two goals behind with 10 mins to go I was so disappointed I just thought...that’s it - season over. And left the ground to get an early start on my drive from there into London. I wish I hadn’t afterwards, even though we still lost.

Don’t think I’ve done it before or since. And certainly didn’t do it today. I didn’t think we’d get a winner but I wanted to stay till the end and applaud that effort.

A lot of people in the upper tier got up and left or went to find a seat in the corner when they did the announcement about having to leave through the corner. The crush caused in both corners of the upper tier and lack of proper walkway to get to them rather than using the upper tier's proper exits seems to contribute to people leaving early.

It's a good job it's never full up there as it's a disaster waiting to happen, far more of a risk than simply letting fans mingle on Bramall Lane. Still no reason to get up and leave the second Gary Sinclair mentions it with 20 minutes left though.
