We all know Clarke is the first name (well, second after O'Connell) on the team sheet, week in and week out.

It's been debated before but I looked back and found that Clarke has only scored 5 goals in his last 24 league games.

Sharp has 5 in his last 11 league starts (14 in his last 30 league starts).

I definitely feel it's about time Sharp gets a run of games, instead of Clarke. I also feel that Clarke's work rate has been declining the last 15 games or so.

Anyone disagrees?

I think Clarke is chosen for his height in preference to Billy. He’s not prolific in the air but Billy doent win the ball in the air, it’s not his game. He needs to play off a taller striker. However, much as I like Clarke for putting himself about and his form, in the first half of last season especially, he misses so many easy chances. Billy is a far better finisher. I’d try Billy and McGoldrick for now.

Looking at last season as a whole, only Vydra had a better minutes per goal ratio than Clarke and Sharp out of the top 10 scorers. So you could argue we had two of the three most prolific goalscorers in the Championship.

That stat should equate to a better finish than 10th.

If Sharp had played a reasonable amount of games in the second half of the season could that have made the difference and got us in to the play offs? Was the dip in Clarke's form down to not playing with Sharp regularly?

I guess what I'm trying to say is there's a very strong argument for playing them both.

It's so close to coming off again for Leon.
He's staying brave and he's definatley not hiding.
I completely undertand Wilders thinking picking him still, it's just a case of how long do we persevere until his form returns?
Sharp seems in form right now but when Leon fires on all cylinders he does offer more, but while he's missing chances and Billy is taking them you've got to go with Sharp.
