Well my negative blades supporting friend who's glass is always half empty is wetting his pants about him, really rates him, hope he's right!

I think we will end up playing a midfield 3 of
Norwood----fleck
-----------coutts-----
Coutts sitting a bit deeper as a regista with Norwood and fleck doing the running... this may see duffys time limited unfortunately.

Assuming Coutts is back to standard and Norwood can help the team by being on the bench, then good, ive not seen enough to think hebis an upgrade on Coutts. The midfield was effective as each responded to the others movement and position. Evans didn't get it and trampled Flecks role weakening the unit, Norwood can't be allowed to make the same mistake.

This loan to purchase in January malarkey, Is it nailed on that we have to buy or is it an option if he does fit in ? Also, Is the fee set prior to the possibility of a transfer in January ?

Think he's more box to box player...can vaguely remember he played in that 4-5 game v Fulham alongside Kev McDonald.
Can see him on the right of a midfield 3 when Coutts gets back and Fleck to the left.
I can see Coutts playing on the right side of midfield with Norwood in the middle of the 3

significant upgrade in quality for us .
Sounds a good deal aswell.
It may persuade a few more better players that this is a progressive club to come to. Well happeh

There’s the option of either. Wilder suggested that one coming in would be a similar deal to Evans in that there will be an agreement to buy (i.e. this bypasses the permanent window being closed, and for all intents and purposes it’s a permanent deal), while another will be with a view to a permanent deal (I.e. no deal in place at this stage but will be reviewed in January). The third seemed to be a straight loan with no talk of a permanent deal. I’m guessing this will be a permanent deal for Norwood.

I'm amazed how everybody knows what a great player Norwood is! Reminds me of the poster who said,' I'd never heard of Paul Shaw before reading this but now I'll be bitterly disappointed if we don't sign him.' Take a bow sir whoever you were (see I do read other people's posts). I hope it doesn't end up the same way.

Also I see Adkins tried to buy him for Hull, I hope we're not being a 'lazy club' and just following other people around to see who they want to buy!

Strangely enough I've watched him closely a few times over the last two seasons when he has played for BHA and last season for Fulham (including the pĺay off final when he came on as sub if I remember right). I always thought he looked a very decent player and used to sit thinking 'I wish United could get Norwood (whilst thinking deep down that he would end up at a Villa or Middlesbrough or someone with much deeper pockets).

From what I've seen of him, I for one will be delighted if we get Norwood and once again CW will have come up trumps. Very clever transfer business from CW....again.

We might all have a moan occasionally about the players picked on any one game or whether the formation and balance of the side looked right on the day. That's football and it is a football fans right to debate and discuss. That's whats happened since football fans first went to a game, and no one is right all the time, not even CW. People's differing opinions is what makes football so great. But anyone who thinks CW hasn't done a tremendous job for us or that he still isn't the the right man for the job is clearly off their rocker. I hope he's with us for a long long time yet.

Can anyone set up a poll asking fans 'who thinks this is a good move by the Club', so that IF the player doesn't do as well as we all hope :( - in 6 months time we're not all trying to pretend that it wasn't what we all wanted ;)

Never heard of him, and definitely never read anything about him on this forum.

Does anybody know how to read this fucking forum?

What makes me laugh is how they think there won't already be a thread on it.

I have more questions than answers on this one. So can someone answer who has a degree of knowledge (please not some of our friends who are prolific in the Rumour Mill with footballer Tourettes syndrome);

A) we play 3-5-2 and he's a midfielder who out of Coutts, Fleck and Duffy is he better than them when Coutts is fit.
B) If he's so good, why they selling him, why can't he make the step up to the Prem? I am pretty certain Fleck and Coutts could make that step up
