Have I made up a false memory of a club which once got its members/season ticket holders to vote for the team to be selected for matches? I think it ended in tears.
For what it's worth, I hope Duffy does start at QPR, but if he doesn't, I assume that Wilder will have good reasons for not selecting him. Wilder certainly knows much more about Duffy's fitness, form, attitude, etc., than I do.

If you want to win you play your best players.
Duffy is our most creative player and dictates games, essential without Coutts.

Not a clue what Wilder is thinking.

You don’t have to be completely open at the back just because we haven’t got 3 in midfield. But surely it means we’ll have some sort of attacking threat and chance of scoring a goal when we have possession?

I voted yes but CW is the boss. He will succeed or fail by his choices, which he will make (hopefully) for the right reasons. As we know Duffs is towards the end of his career and CW needs to engineer a replacement. He would be failing in his duties not to prepare for that. The options have to be explored, the fact that they are not paying off is unfortunate.
*Warning* the fact that i know FA about football may need to be taken into account. :):)

Are you thinking of Brexit? :)

Yep - Wilder not picking our most creative player has certainly worked well so far. We’ve looked a complete and utter shambles.

Ebbsfleet Utd?

For what it's worth, I said I hope Duffy plays; and much of the fun of football is the fact that we all have opinions. Managers make mistakes, but they live with the consequences of their decisions. I can't think of a reason why Wilder would leave Duffy out if he thinks he is the best available option...

He’s the best attacking and creative midfielder we have got at the club.
I was totally dismayed when I saw the unchanged team for last night!

I'm perfectly happy if Wilder thinks that there are good reasons not to play Duffy (as you say, he knows more than we do). The only thing I'd say, though, is that if Wilder doesn't see him as a first team player, we should have been looking to move him on in the summer. We'd get very decent money for a creative midfielder with his stats from last season, and could have used that money to invest in a guaranteed starter, or to increase the wage ceiling.

I've said the same thing about Sharp on another thread. To have two players who are probably paid something approaching £20k per week between them being sidelined and then start bitching about affordability (or non-affordability in our case) of the wages of some of our targets I find quite bizarre.

Ebbsfleet Utd?
Well done. It's usually Mrs HBT who remembers what I forget. Just looked it up, and it turns out they had a poll before each game as to whether the manager should pick the team, or the member-owners. And every week they opted for...

...the manager.

Surely this question is right up there with some of the most obvious questions of recent times?

Stupid poll!
