Everyone needs to calm down. Give it 5 or 6 games. Wilder needs and has earned some leeway to come up with the right formation and tactics. He won't perservere blindly with this starting 11 as he knows it's not working. He's not a fool but the last thing we need is a rift to open up between Wilder and the supporters. If he makes changes for QPR we should go there with confidence. It's way too early to panic. We are definitely better than what we have seen so far. Wilder just needs a bit of time to get his first 11 and tactics right.

There were positive signs in the 2nd half. Duffy and Woodburn are quality. Clarke missed two good chances but at least chances were created and he will start putting them away. Midfield is the critical area. Leonard looked better than either Lundstram or Evans when he came on. A lot of it is about confidence. The better players will force their way into the side and the weak links will be dropped. Plus a more creative midfield will take the pressure off the defence and provide more spark upfront.

Fans were good tonight at Boro from what I heard on TV. We need to keep it up. Too early for doom and gloom. Woodburn Fleck Leonard Duffy across the middle looks alright to me. Might be time to go 442. More than anything we need a poacher upfront if it's not going to be Billy.

Best post I've read tonight and for a while. Some good points about individual players too. What people don't seem to get - in my view - is that as bad as the first two games have being, its still fine margins between winning and losing. Less so tonight because we couldn't defend corners but certainly Swansea. Yes they were the better side but ultimately if we take our chances and defend like we can then we'll look a different side.

I've heard many say Egan is a poor signing, because he was brought in as the commanding centre half that we needed. He's not a Flint or Burn type, or for that matter Morgan. He's more of an all round decent defender and yes he's decent in the air but if people are expecting another Chris Morgan type then they'll be very disappointed. Also people need to be patient with Egan, and any other new signings. Have fans forgot how poor Jack O'Connell was for his first 4 games including a handball pen and an own goal and being disposed which led to another goal.

Our dopey owners started arguing last January in the middle of a killer first season back in the championship... then the wheels started to come off for the first team, coincidence ?..

Those two need to sort this shit out before we end up in a relegation battle.... yes it’s a possibility if our form doesn’t change, and I’m not overreacting after the second game because we all know our current form from the close of last season to today... and it’s poor..

My concern is also the depth of the squad. Without further additions, we are actually one injury crisis away from having some real issues.

We have 27 players in the club right now. Lavery, Holmes and Norrington-Davies who are for the exit door in some way shape or form, so 24. Coutts and Wright unavailable, so 22. The list includes Hallam and Eastwood who I imagine Wilder is not looking to count on, so 20.

This then includes Lafferty who never gets game time. A few injuries in the wrong area and we could be in trouble. We only have 3 out and out strikers!

We're past that, mi owd. That injury crisis was Coutts, patently.

Here's the perspective: We never had adequate cover in midfield for Coutts, and in the subsequent panic as we were losing traction on the top, Wilder (IMHO) was forced to fuck off and shop at Aldi and bought players who cost peanuts and were set to play like chimps. Quality players don't cost peanuts, and before anyone starts and points at the pigs, they have their own snags backstage and have habitually got the worst out of a good lot.

I am now baffled and expecting an explanation from the strangely quiet pro-McCabe Momentum Brigade regarding the 'weerzt'munneh' question. It needs answering please, because fuck me, if you add together the most optimistic forecast of Walker (£4.5m) Maguire (£1.7m) and Brooks (£10m) and tell me that has all gone on running the club and wages, I'll offer 'bullshit'. If 'operating costs' this year have been £17m given the other revenue inputs then what the tapdancing fuck are we doing?

For Wilder to say (through gritted teeth, it seems) that there will be no permanent arrivals this TW after that fucking capitulation is nothing short of laughable. Good luck to him with this lot mind, because given what was on show last night, no fucker of any worth is gonna touch this club now. Be best to sit it out in the reserves with another club.

Also, you'll ably explain why we've agreed to take £4m as a downpayment for Brooks from a club who have just subsequently spent £25m breaking its own transfer fee. Any details on when the rest of it is due? What's Bournemouth's plans to settle the balance? Or are they offering us a friendly?
