Wilder interview

Wilder very irate in the interview. Saying how he loved being in these positions and stands by his team.

Felt it was nonsense about creating the best chances as game was already over by then. Boro basically had just mailed it in - they had won.

Lets create chances at 0-0

Selected the right team he says. But the performance of Duffy and Woodburn gives food for thought. Just silly mistakes he says. Not sticking the ball in the back of the net is the problem. Well yes Chris since football was invented. He's completely fucking lost it. There's nothing wrong. The entire sarky response about "picking the right team" means he's lost credibility in my eyes/ears.

As for incomings, he's obviously put everything into the unattainable Waghorn. Jeez.

No mention about team selection dear me. Clarke as captain doesn’t talk to anyone and I could say more like Lundstram starting ahead of Duffy. Oh fuck it I’m off to bed UTB FTP

No permanent transfers. No targets. This is either an elaborate wind-up to cover his business or incredibly depressing.

Only had a bid for one player? No one else out there? Why bother trying eh?

Great reaction. A talented manager who is being held back by a board in turmoil.

I trust Chris to keep a level head and make the team stronger against QPR.

I agree the board ain’t helping but he does have a decent budget (by United standards) which he is choosing not to spend.

He says in the interview he could take a punt on a League Two striker. Surely we are at the stage where we need at least one more striker and if you don’t have the budget for your first choice you have to take a punt on lower league or even abroad?

I ain’t saying blow the lot but why not gamble £1m - £2m? We certainly won’t be any worse off this season!

Our fans expect us to beat the likes of Swansea and Middlesbrough, and I’m afraid it’s not going to be that easy.

Compete.

At least half the league would have beat Swansea at home first game. Boro equalised in the 97th minute against Millwall.

Results aside, we've been poor in both games.

Why would he contradict himself saying we had 4 bids out yesterday then?

We may have had 4 bids but they may have been pathetic bids - that we were never going to get the players a la Waghorn.

Said we had not touched the Brooks money. That is also correct - does not mean he expects or will see any of it!

Abroad? What is this strange concept of which you speak?

I’m glad permanent signings don’t look like happening before Thursday. I don’t want him to sign anyone else now. I don’t trust the system and philosophy. Signing players to throw into something that isn’t working would be a waste of money.
