Electronic advertising boards

Horrible, stops us having ball boys on three sides, slows the game down even more. Get shut.

Fucking too bright, kept being drawn to it. Maybe an excuse for the players too, not used to it yet.

but........but.....without all the money they bring in how would we be able to afford all our loan players and free transfers?

I think they're quite tasteful as electronic hoardings go. A lot of teams have the ones that are 4 foot tall and they are distracting.

I don't think the players can blame those though. We were one of only about 3 teams that didn't have them last season.

Welcome to SheffVegas...

Bright light city gonna set my soul
Gonna set my soul on fire
Got a whole lot of money ready to burn
So set those stakes up higher etc etc

Mind you those flashing lights have now caused problems for the the authenticity of both my Subutteo and Lego re- creations of the Lane posing serious doubts about my electrical ability. And the wiring is bound to play havoc with my home made pitch sprinkler system. I’m now going to have to focus on pitchside adverts and cease designing my Lego car park protest and huge queues for a pint at half time Subutteo scenes.

I hate them, certainly hate that advert that had flashing letters, too distracting and to be honest was giving me an headache.

They are bloody bright and certainly catch your attention but then that’s the point isn’t it.

I imagine that the brightness is focused in the direction of the tv gantry with it not being as distracting at pitch level.

Fuck did I not like that.
Ffs BW it's the future. We are as a club living in the past, please tell me you are old and resisting change and not young and wanting better, faster, bigger. Where's this clubs ambishun? ;):)

TBH I am am old guy now and I am really falling out with football , VAR , music been played at kick off or when a team scores a goal , sitting down , now advertising boards flashing all the fookin time , some players who are big time Charlie's that are shite , money dominating the game totally , and the elite 6 or 7 clubs in the premiership that we will never catch up with and will always be miles behind ( Spurs new ground unblieveable ) and Sheffield United selling there best players all the time ( nothing changes there ) naming football stands after athletics stars WTF , and not after great players like Alan Woodward when he was with us RIP . Might be time to sit back to sit back in my arm chair and pack it in , but like a moth to a flame I will be there against Norwich but this time sat with my sun glasses on to cut out the glare of flashing advertising boards !!

We had them 10years ago when in the prem, no one moaned then.

Those shirts are horrendous, they made the team look like an overweight Sunday league team. Who's got this compulsion to have the team playing in white anyway ?

Against Inter Milan at night they were even more of a distraction - far too bright. Mind you that may be a blessing if we play like we did yesterday. By the way did anyone else think the pitch markings were very faint yesterday?

I found myself staring at them for the last 45 minutes. Nothing to do with the brightness, just better than watching the shite we served up second half.

The kit is the worst I’ve seen in years. Coupled with the advertising boards and it felt a bit like we weren’t playing at the Lane
Funnily enough I’ve changed my mind on the shirts. Now I’ve seen them up close I think they look better quality than last year. I also liked being able to actually read the numbers on the back. My eyesight isn’t the greatest and even with glasses I rely on the numbers to tell me who some of the players are.

I also like the electronic boards. They give the feel of a modern stadium. There were one or two on the highlights of the Championship show who still haven’t got them and it looked poor by comparison on tv. We also had proper companies advertising instead of made up ones like some clubs seem to prefer.

I feel my blood pressure rising...

The advertising boards are not at the top of my Fucked-off Iceberg.

Top of the list.. by some measure, is VAR. Wank. Watched a match last month where it was used, dreadful. Oh, but great for TV fans.

But of course being a (relatively) old bugger, I get accused of not liking change. I love change, if it's for the better. And if the benefit is for TV fans eating their pizzas and drinking their "Bud", well they can fuck right off.

And music, well, fuck me. Not only are the "tunes" played at BDTBL fucking dross, it also kills the atmosphere. Yea, believe it or not, I DO want to hear what the pissed up Away fans sing.. before being deafened by the Kop offering a retort. Yesterday, for example, we were in middle of Kop and before kick off there was singing being generated.. or so I think, as it was drowned up by some fucking awful music.

And although that's just me started about how football is being corrupted.. I do feel better for getting it off my chest.
