Football on 5

Gents and Ladies... It's Channel 5.

If you set your expectations low enough then they might just raise themselves to reach it. My suggestion is?

On Saturday night, have a couple of drinks and if you're not out, surf the music channels.

We all know how great the Blades are and don't need affirmation from the likes of them.

First and foremost not all of us have Sky so the opportunity of seeing the Blades on TV is via this channel.

I don't always get the opportunity of watching it but I always thought we were overlooked when Michael Gray was one of the pundits. But we seem to be continually kept well beneath the radar no matter who is doing the punditry.

One of the most annoying aspects is the style and quality of football we are producing is just not getting any recognition. As already mentioned the midweek matches are not featured but that passage of play in the Pass, Pass, Pass video should be shown somewhere on a TV channel.
Alan Curbishley (think thats how you spell it) is the only pundit on that show who ever talked praise about us when he got the chance even though he hasn't been on since the wimbledon game where he heaped a big amount of praise on us signing James Hanson

My wife records it for me as I'm at work!. The format is shite just like the presenter and the piss poor experts!!. we might get better coverage in the championship next season!. Utb

Don't bet on it. The stand-out game in the Championship last Saturday was Leeds v Brighton. Goal Rush chose a meaningless local scuffle between two East Midlands under-achievers - Forest v Derby.

What's all this rubbish about us never getting recognition !!!!!!
You guys have got short memories, we went nation wide with the Ched case didn't we ? ......

I'm liking it at the moment. We're always on first so, slip across there bang on ten, see how short yon totties skirt is, watch our highlights, switch off again (unless said skirt is so short it's worth keeping switched on).
Wouldn't give it time of day if we were mid table and had a random slot that wasn't as easy to predict.

Just watched last nights edition. Only mention was "Sheffield United didn't play today"

How lazy (shite) is the research on this show that when doing a dedicated league one slot, they cannot identify and discuss the fact that an Oxford and Blades win this Wednesday means the Blades are promoted.

I feel that when it happens it will get a cursory mention through gritted teeth before they switch to an in depth look Port Vale (insert any mid table irrelevant club here).

I thought i was getting paranoid until my daughter said a couple of weeks ago "Why do they never talk about us"?

This programme has got beyond a joke. For about the fourth week running they havent discussed who is top of League One. About three weeks ago then even said something like "maybe Fleetwood can win the league", ignoring who was in top spot, with a multiple points lead.

The anti-SUFC slant of that programme has been obvious since the 4-0 loss to Gillingham under Adkins - where they positioned our hightlights straight after Wednesday's (who won) and basically openly took the piss out of us.

Oh come on, are we seriously saying channel 5 are biased against us too?

We could get back to back promotions and they'd still speak about us for about 7 seconds. Never really given a fuck but if it was the pigs promotion there'd be a 30 minute special dedicated to them. Fuck channel 5 and the prick presenter who always looks like he got dressed in the dark. Don't mind it when Micky Gray is on there a he only has good things to say about us. We'll go about our business in silence.

I've not read through each and every post on this thread, but did anybody else hear Neil Redfearn say that Southend have "one of the best strikers in the country", regarding Nile "the thug" Ranger? Fucking laughable.

Think they more into and concentrate all things Championship . League 1 and 2 are just a bit of a side show .

To be honest if we had not been in league 1 for so long , would we bothered about league 1 , no chance .

We will get a lot more mentions when in the Championship .

We have to remember it's a low budget show . The big question is really about the lady presenter - does she .

I can only refer you to #57 of the 101 post - my comments concur.

They were more concerned about a stuffed Peppa Pig , being thrown at a greedy ex-Dingle , than our fine promotion charge last night .

Sky channel 144 at 9pm

Anyone remember this TV series from the 70's, starring a young Kurt Russell?
