Sheffsteel you’ve sussed it, it’ll all be a last minute thing a bit like the January Transfer Window and that’s where most players and agents earn the best deals. Clubs, managers,owners get scared and don’t want to lose the player they’ve chased for some time so offer more than what the player is probably worth.

The problem is when you pay £5m plus for a player, he likes to get paid accordingly. It's a bit like rejecting all offers for Brooks when Bournemouth are offering £30k and he's only on 4k here. The player will always leave.

28 years old. Could've had him for next to nothing last summer. Hasn't been a consistent goalscorer.

Middlesbrough's the best move for him. They'll pay him some wages, he's back in the north east and he'll play games.

Wages. Think he only used the L**ds move to try and get premier clubs to join the chase. Truth is I think the PL is way beyond many promising players, only well proved world class strikers get that chance now. The Championship has become the playground of the multi millionaires whereas the PL is a billionaire / cartel money laundering institution.

Sounds pretty certain waghorn is off the boro'. I know nothing agreed until everything's agreed but at £5m it's sounds like we were hoping for a quick deal but there's to much money sloshing around the Championship these days. Irrelevant we bagged £12m for Brooke's we know from custom and practice that money is needed to keep the club afloat not for gambling on getting back to the PL under our current turbulent stewardship.
